So wtf are u talking about? A 6 ft 5 bloke who's been bashed into by Nash half the game didn't have great lateral movement 5 mins to go in the 4th quarter... Woopty doo.
Nash is taller and moves twice as well. What's height got to do with anything? Most point guards are 6'5. You're making it sound like he's 6'11. He's a point guard.

I'm not disagreeing with you. but why did you mention his height at all then?
Because after running 12-15km as a 95kg 6'5 midfielder you are gonna be cooked at the end of the game. It's the same reason you don't see big Key Forwards leading high up the ground like they're fresh from a holiday at the end of a game. Big bodies like Cripps aren't endurance runners, never will be.

Cripps' endurance at his size is phenominal though. IIRC there were seasons where he had the most TOG% for mids.

Oliver has looked shocking to start the year. I fear his ability to return to the 2021-22 levels Melbourne supporters were suggesting in here.
shocking? haha he played well in his 1 game of the year. And there's no shame in not returning to be the best player in the game. A level Cripps has never got to.

Cripps has looked great. Horrendous defensively.

ask the coaches. 2021 and 2022.
And yet no Brownlow... I guess if you ask the umps who the best player was in 2024 they'd say Cripps was. A level Clarry has never reached.

In fact, Cripps was the only player in 2024 to be top 2 in all 3 of the major awards. Brownlow, AFLCA and AFLPA MVP. Also something Clarry has been able to achieve over his career. I'd think thats a fair indicator of who's the best player in the comp in any given year.

lol Brownlow. talk about losing credibility with 1 word.

1st in the Brownlow
2nd in the AFLCA
2nd in the MVP

No other player last year could say they had as good a year by those measures. Would have won the AFLCA if McRae wasn't handing Nick votes for 10th best on ground performances too.

Clarry has never had a year as good as Cripps in 2024 and he was clearly the best player in the game last season.

why are you even mentioning the Brownlow? You realise it's got as much credibility as Lou's handball. You're just embarrassing yourself each time you mention it. Only simpletons watch the Brownlow. No respected footy mind gives the Brownlow any thought.

Cripps was absolutely not the best player in the comp last season. Oliver in 2021/22 was basically Cripps with better speed and power.

Oliver had significantly more disposals, better kick to handball ratio, more clearances, more contested possessions, more inside 50's, significantly more metres gained, more goal assists, more effective disposals, more intercepts. 100 more meters gained per match. just let that sink in!

In no way was Cripps' 2024 better than Oliver's 2022. And not even close.

And less than half the goals. One of Clarry's biggest weaknesses

Why is it that Clarry wasn't able to win or at least come runners up in the 3 major awards the years he was 'the best player in the game'?

I mean hell, Sam Walsh finished ahead of him in the MVP in 2021.

I would have still voted for Bontempelli to be ahead of anyone by a fair margin in 2021/2022. Far more damaging footballer.
