Richmond sorely missed Daniel Jacksons influence around the packs this year.

If they can't land anyone this offseason I wouldn't be surprised to see them throw him a rookie spot.

I don't think so, they played most of last year without Conca. I'd expect him to be best 22 next year and have an impact.

If he knew he was going to play WAFL why didn't he just accept retirement instead of been delisted.

Thought he loved Vic! Make more sense to play for a VFL club.

I don't think he did know. WAFL (or VFL) will be the fall back I suppose. Clearly he didn't want to retire and so stood his ground.

FWIW, I think he could easily go again for a year maybe two. But for a player who is only very good at a few things, at his age, I can't see anybody throwing him a bone unfortunately even though he'd come dirt cheep.

Though he's saying otherwise, he should just retire as gracefully as he can and eke out another 3-4 years at the WAFL level where I think he can still be a very good player.

I think Crowley has a lot to offer, not least that he's had a years "rest" from the hard physical knocks of playing every game, he's fresh, as it were. Obviously he had issues with pain management in 14 (don't get me started on that), which are now resolved. He would be an asset for any of the struggling clubs, both on versatility and experience. He's a good kick and not restricted to a midfield or a tag gets role. I'd be surprised if Melbourne, Carlton, Lions or Suns wouldn't seriously consider him. My bet is Melbourne. I'd welcome him back to Subiaco very vocally. Unless the club realised they effete up, & got a bit carried away (don't get me started on that either) and selected him in the draft, assuming he's not already gone.

Yep I doubt he will get picked up but still think he could contribute if given a chance at another club. Put his tagging aside and he was a good kick for goal, he's a mature body and it sounds like the enforced break from football has allowed him to get on top of some of his injuries and wear and tear. A club could do worse then pay him peanuts to play in the state league and be ready to fill in if injuries get on top of them.

Sandilands looked gone for all money a few years ago and then has had two cracking seasons since, the season off and reduced stress from a change in role could do Crowley wonders. He's spoken a few times about how hard the tagging role was mentally.

Like I said most likely will play state footy next year but would be happy to see him given the chance to retire without his ban being the last thing he did in the AFL.
