Dawson BOG again.
Thilthorpe kicks 5
Draper has 20 and kicks 2
2-0 start to the season
I don’t really agree that this will be an indicator. Crows defeated Essendon last year over in Melbourne. We also beat St Kilda last week as we did last year. We LOOK better, yes, but until we defeat teams that we haven’t for a while it’s hard to see anything as a real improvement apart from the aesthetics.I think this will be an indicator of where we are as a unit
St Kilda play a lockdown style where ( I think ) Essendon play a lot more free flowing game ie shootout
This will highlight areas we are going to be good at or terrible
I hope good
Crows by under 24 points
It was more about our movement of the ballI don’t really agree that this will be an indicator.
A comfortable 4 or 5 goal win where we are never really troubled and can afford to ease off would do the trick.I want this sort of game to be the games we can get back to being confident again.
Today will tell us a lot about the side this year.

I felt St Kilda blocked the game up a bit - whereas I see the Essendon side as a more free flowing one
My pessimistic thoughts also. But surely we come out guns blazing....SurelyAlternatively:
Lazy start with a heap of missed tackles
Down 4 or 5 goals early
Work in to the game
Lose late
1-1 and still nowhere
(Sorry!)
Losing is not an option if we're serious about finals, but I have too many nightmares about games we had to win or should have won. This is a perfect barometer to show how far the list has progressed or regressed. A depleted, somewhat bogy side for us, away, and huge expectation to deal with.Another must win against a depleted side.
Win the game, break the hoodoo and move on.

This game profile has certainly been the trend over last 2-3 season
Weneed a fast start
On paper Essendon’s mids are the biggest threat - there mids will not only need to kick goals but they will need to dominate to not expose their defence.
It’s on Dawson, Crouch, Soligo Pearling, Rankine to show up from the first bounce and play four qtrs of high standard footy
