the nerd rage for this latest delay was insane. i checked my phone in the morning and saw the delay and went "ah **** again, that sucks" and went about my day, then checked the usual gaming forums and stuff that night and people had gone absolutely mental, saying they don't trust the developer any more and are going to refund and pirate the game and worse shit than that

gives people a few more weeks if they want to try buy a 30XX card for the game at least lol

If you have realistically adjusted your expectations, then I don't think it will suck. Although, if you're expecting this game to be innovative and be the next step in "open-world" ARPGs', then you're going to be disappointed when you realise 5 hours in it's just a re-worked Borderlands in a different, but fancier setting.

don't think it'll be anything like borderlands. it'll just feel a lot like witcher 3 aside from the setting and camera perspective, with a bit more roleplaying. if they pull off the same level of questing/characters/story everyone will blow their loads again. if the quests/characters are lackluster then the game will flop in reviews big time

Yeah I can't see it being anything other than a fantastic game just quietly, not sure where these hot takes about it flopping are coming from. Witcher is leagues above Borderlands, as you say if they hit that quality again for the story and quests it's pretty much job done and I don't see how that doesn't happen with the development time they've had.

Yep, it'll cop criticism about the shooting due to the ever increasing hype and amount of new genre players they will get expecting COD. My guess is that combat will still be better than fallout 4 and an original setting is going to paper over any cracks in their weaker areas.

I think Fallout 4 is a good comparison. Fallout 4 would be the absolute minimum level Cyberpunk will achieve. That's the floor. And I loved that game.

I expect it will far exceed it though.

Played Fallout 4 and enjoyed it, but it wasn't even anywhere near Witcher imo. 5 years later I expect Cyberpunk should blow it clean out of the water.

Just hoping for cool quests and some dynamic RPG elements at this point. Really want a game like this to make your decisions and actions count for something. If they can achieve something on that level I'd be very happy even if the game is a buggy mess and looks less impressive on my shitty console.

I'm just hoping for an adult targetted game that affords us an adult story and experience, but not without some good old fashioned video game fun.

After old RDR2 didn't even let us visit the working ladies at the saloon bar, it feels thing are a bit more sanitised than they used to be, and I'm not a 16 year old anymore giggling about hookers in bouncing cars and headshots in GTA 3, I'm 30 and in the intervening years things should have progressed a little further than they have in the medium for our demographic.

Fortunately, we have CDPR who understand that not everyone wants to play the video game equivalent of Marvel movie continuously, and pair that with actual good game design.
