I cant see the panthers going to far this season without the infamous Mr Toad/ Trent Wiltshire/ Shagga
Hell go in harder than when he went inside that albino

Teasdale is a plonker. Arrogant toss. Misses all goals from the square

NOBS & Bullants are flying - they play off in round 6. Should be a ripper. I believe there might be a big gap between the top three sides and the rest. anyone else agree at this stage?

what happened in the game between fitzroy v aquinas. another low score by the reds?

also good to see the 'stars' of D1, Rombotis & teasdale, playing well for their respective sides.

The conditions werent exactly the best for football today down at brunswick st.. Wind was very tricky and was probably the reason behind the low scores..

NOB going well with new coach, old coach gone to SMD now going crap,BT going well.
Did SMD appoint the wrong coach,Matthews going well at BT.

SMD are a shadow of the side they have been for last couple of years. gone are some of their better players and also struggling for depth. will struggle to stay in D1 unless a miracle happens. pity really coz i think i had previously tipped them for top 4. not sure the SMD coach is to blame - it just seems to be one of those years.

Seen NOBS, Mentone and Bulleen Temp in the last 2 weeks and would have to say B-T are the team to beat. Although slightly hard to gauge the form of NOBS and Mentone as conditions yesterday were ordinary.

I'd tip Old Geelong, Prahran, Mentone and NOBs to fight for positions 2, 3 & 4.

Oh dear! Bedford, what your post fails to mention is that NOBS have come down this year to D1 after enjoying many years in higher grades and should be expected to bounce back after years of under performing. You also fail to mention the fact that BT have been in D1 (while still retaining some A grade players) for a while and have generally been considered to be under performed. While down at South we were expecting to take D1 by storm but are now finding that it really is a long way to the shop if want a sausage roll.
Take nothing away from BT on Saturday, quality side, Florence is one seriously good footballer and Ugly (amongst others) still goes well, but South, I feel, are still to find their feet in this division. The bloods may have met their match in this division but to start this coaching nonsense doesn't do justice to the teams that have beaten South to this point, all of which are serious contenders for the flag.
The coaches at South are well aware that 0-3 doesn't look good but we believe this level is where the club belongs, if you ever took the time to actually look at a game I'm sure you too would think (at least for periods of a game) that we are not far away from a win and that once that win comes more will follow.

Good to see Aquinas respond after their disappointing performance agst NOBS,as I said a young team that will improve as the season progresses.

what i'm saying is,matthews was a better option than whats there now.don't be so biased defending your senior coach.

BOTH teams had to contend with the wind Bloods, and a score of 10 goals by Aquinas was not too short of the other winning teams. They are a pretty average side, but seriously, the Reds were rubbish. The two losses have showed them up to be lacking any forward structure or anyone to kick a goal. I suspect it will be a LONG season down at Brunswick Street.

That's not the attitude you want to portray to your opponents or your peers.

Saw Sth Melb for the first time in 2008 on Saturday and must say Harps, while you guys were blown out of the water from the first bounce, rest assured there are/have been worse sides in D1 than Sth Melb. If the current ladder is a true reflection of the divison this year, its a pretty strong standard.

With a bit of luck you should be able to stay up. Chin up pal, the wheel will turn.

No Greenvale vs Strathmore this week mate? or Sunshine vs Spotswood??

Once a Bullant always a Bullant.

Huge couple of weeks for the club coming up. An away game against Prahran will be a tough assignment...then the big game vs Mentone at Ajani (should be a great atmosphere with the past players day before!)

feels a bit like a pointless argument given the coaches have been appointed and you can not compare the two sides because they're coming from completely different backgrounds. you should not be suprised that harper has defended their senior coach!

thats the point i was trying to make, I just need to work on my expression. And for the record there will be no raising of the white flag down at The Districts, we're only 2 games out of the four for f@*ks sake:D

Harps, will there be a raising of another flag this weekend? First home game for the yr isnt it? Now we will see the real SMD, a team that is near unbeatable over the last few yrs at home!!

G'day Bloods, yes there will be a flag going up the flag pole this week (not white), hopefully plenty of the blokes who earnt it are there to see it flying. Ironic that it is another battle of the bloods for our first home game and after the four cracking matches last year the ledger is square at two all. I see you made a spot for yourself in the late games so far this year, is this trend set to continue? or should I plan to see you in the early one?
