Oh Roger.......that old chestnut eh? As I am a keen fisherman also, it can often be the case that sometimes you can hook a big fish, but unfortunately don't have the strength to get into the boat
Anyway, hope you and your club ( whoever that is ) are doing well and continue to enjoy the season.

I was at the postage stamp on Saturday to see the Wickers hang on for a sensational win. Elsternwick have a new look backline this year - nothing short of 5 ginger ninjas in their back six. They were on fire Saturday!

Are powerhouse contenders or pretenders? I’m thinking pretenders like every other year. What’s everyone thoughts on the subject.
Contenders. As are St Johns and LaTrobe. Outsiders, Yarra Valley OBs and Hawthorn.
The rest can please themselves.
Not convinced that AP and UHS VU can defend well enough. Both score freely but let too many in at the other end.
New coaches around the clubs might take some time getting their game plans to bare fruit. Too early to be talking injuries, that is unless the depth isn't there.

Lucky Phil ....why so much anger? You will note that sidewinder did not rate my beloved Ivanhoe either, but that's ok. Everyone has their opinions ....that's all they are - nothing mentioned on this really counts for much when it's said an done.
That being said .....we have not beaten a contender
We did however beat a team that beat an outsider....yet that outsider beat us, so I suppose we are ......??? .......waiting until rd 6 or 7.Chump.

Lucky Phil you have a short memory correct me if i'm worng didnt the wicks get smashed in the first 2 rounds. So they are an average side, just got a bit lucky on the weekend.

LuckyPhil, unfortunately I think you'll find that Sideshow Sidewinder is actually from your very own club. Word is that the players have wondered for years why the guy insists on getting online and often bagging his own club. Baffling, really. Hard to see how it'd do any good.
Anyway, two spirited wins from the Wicks. Hopefully the form continues, with some handy inclusions over the next couple of weeks.

Hopefully not for our sake..the teams I have watched us verse so far have all been very very good apart from kew.. I believe there is every chance we can string a couple together and avoid relegation once we get a few back from injury..

powerhouse reserves lost there 4 points and percentage for playing an unregistered player against west brunswick pretty stiiff penalty i reckon but unlike the storm they can play for points for the rest of the year.

Is it the playing group? the coach? the commitee - or the taps in Beacy Central?!? - big margin losses for the magoos and the 1's - only saw a small dark fella against the Hoer's 2nd half give a bit.

Eddie, it has been a very poor start for us, I agree and its not the SFX way. But we have had our fair share of injuries and as always in the ammos, unavailabilities. We had a few very experienced blokes retire, which would leave a hole in any ammos side. We have a very very young list and the kids are gaining experience after every game. We could be mistaken as the Hawthorn Football Club (AFL), we seem to get 4 or 5 injuries every week.
We will start to win games of footy, hopefully against Hawthorn this week.
