I noticed a very interesting result in the 2's on saturday. Surely a certain team isn't dropping players back to the seconds to chase premiership glory?

More like being able to bring players up from our thirds not down from our ones.
Without the Dragons we would still be short of numbers to put 2 teams out.

Due to our wonderful run of injuries, there were about a dozen players who played in our ones last Saturday who are eligable to play 2s finals. These players are regular 2s players who are presently needed to fill out the senior team.

The result was set up on guys just having a red hot dip. WB looked a little hesitant to get the hard ball for fear of injury.

There is joy but no glory in your 2s succeeding in finals, but your ones not being there.
BHN believe they are only truely successful when both teams play finals.

Well I hope sfx lose and you win by 150 points then so we don't have to play you the week after!

So WB were not up to the same standard as the first time you played them (ressies that is)?

I think Kew is clearly the team to beat in the ressies if that's the case. They have some big boys running around in the twos.

No one will ever admit to stacking their twos. if there were a dozen twos players in the ones, would they have been the best twos players?

Perce,
Will the flood be in action again this week ? Because no one has kept him under 5 in 7 weeks.

Best to ask the coach that one crazy ! The Mountain goats haven't flooded all year so I cant see that changing. Not taking away anything from Horne (obviously a class above at this level) however I still believe a 'smokey' defender may be able to hold him under 5. In saying this very tough given the small ground but Mr Horne does average slightly less goals at home compared to away games. ummm ! ;)

Back to back wins over SFX and WB by 8 goals apiece is very impressive ;)

well... 7 and 2, now that I've bothered checking!! (edit)

Kew look the team to beat for sure in the ressies. good form in the ones means their would be players in the twos who would push for one's selection in any other team. good mix of big boys and smaller ones who can run out a game

Most of the good WB players from the first time we played them were missing this time around, eg a big blonde key forward and the cross-eyed ranga who plays in the middle.

How did you work that out? 43 goals kicked at Kew. 36 kicked away ,both from 8 games. The average at home is 5.375.

It appears WB's depth has been questioned in the past few weeks. Their seniors are still strong, but the twos have been struggling compared to early season form. It may suggest a weakness leading up to the finals.

Perce...don't upset him crazy...it's Perc with a Y

I hear a rumour that Percy (who would never play reserves!!) may come out of retirement for this weeks game just to stop Horne!!

As for the flood, small ground suits then maybe it will be on;)

How bad is your centre sqr.....r u bouncing the ball there or more towards the wing?

Last night it was a small lake. A couple of weeks ago we bounced it closer to the wings as we had a circle on either side of the centre. If the rain continues it may turn into a river, however, if it stays away then will be in relatively good condition. The rest of the ground is fine.

In relation to a smokey - RC tried one last week and only lasted until 1/4 time.

The ground is more a circle with wide pockets and flanks so generally harder to flood compared to AP.

Finally, we have 1 young guy who has played evry game that might have a week off and possibly 2 who are sore but other than that will play our best side available.

Since were talking about team of the year and top ten's interested in who people think are each team's best now the year's nearly over (thinking back to the players to watch post)

WB-Irving
AP-Dallas
Kew-Horne/O'Connell
EP-Viola
MTL-Rhodes
RC-Nuske/Camilleri
BC-Cookson
STH-Richardson/George
SFX-Russo
NB-Pizari
SM-Price
BHN-Penny
(obviously only on what i have seen and been told this year)

Always interesting to see how outsiders rate people differently to those from the club.

You've got to be kidding!
