I was wondering has a young player ever been so overated ... whenever I watch the pies when they are losing or playing a tough opposition in a close match he is MIA.

I am starting to think the pies fans get caught up in all the excitment associated with the glimpses he shows when the game is over late in time on in the 4th term or when the pies are 100 points up.

You obviously dont watch the Pies much. This I can understand. I would rather dip the aggots in hot wax than watch anyone wearing the old dark navy poo. No choice though, this weekend.

Did anyone see Mike Sheahan's article the other day?

He was writing about the new breed of superstars and how he had Brown and Judd at positions 1 & 2 in his March Top 50, but if he was to revisit his Top 50, he'd have Franklin and Ablett on top.

He ended his article by annointing Dale Thomas as another of the competition's young superstars after his recent good form.

Good for a chuckle, but maybe evidence that Sheahan has past his use-by date. I like Thomas; the kid goes alright; but would anyone be calling him a superstar just yet if he had his hair clipped short and he was drafted by Brisbane instead of the Pies?

I would suggest that with just 2 good wins under your belt this whole season then any positive reaction from the smurf brigade can be considered an over rating / over reaction / over hype / over salary cap or whatever you spanners want to call it ... pull your heads in or have the splinters from the bottom rungs of the ladder imbedded themselves in your brains and impeded your ability to think rationally ... or were you always this silly ???

very, very true. Thomas is great at making additions to the highlights reel when the game is well and truly over.. but when the game is on he is nowhere to be seen.

Well according to your well reasoned sense of of what it takes to be successful carlton supporters it is very likely that mr thomas will be putting on a clinic this sunday ...

Sheahan said he had a brilliant game against Melbourne.

Aside from a nice goal in the last quarter, he did jack. I don't care if he took 15 marks, about 1 was contested and he can't win a hard ball or use the ball consistently well to save himself.

it'd be funny if he kicked the winning goal after the horn on sunday, wouldnt u look like a w***er red

Does he really need to kick the winning goal to make this scenario true?

I think that thomas wouldnt get anywhere near the negative attention if he didnt look the way he did.

Much like kyle reimers. Whether its the boots or hair that stands out, show a little talent and opposition supporters feel so threatened they will heap whatever they can on them.

Thomas would easily walk into any team in the league.

yep wat a loser
king of the duds

a n00b that supports fremental commenting on losers, lol. shut your cakehole until you get some respectable form, go away n00b full stop.

no hard balls to win in the melbourne game, all of them were easy. we should've gone out and done lanework, would've worked up more effort during training.
jim stynes, lol, ____ing crybaby. if he's crying before taking the job over then he's got about 2 months before your rabble send him into the psych ward. you clowns are the fitzroy of the 21st century, hang on even fitzroy won more games.

Watch the semi final from last year then come talk. Was in our best 5, put us in front with 3 minutes to go then set up the first goal of extra time. Pretty good for someone who plays poor against good opposition.

Funny how there are no threads on whether Marc Murphy stands up in big games as your boys aren't good enough to get into the final 8 and play against the big boys. When you guys ever play a "must win" game I would like to see how Murph and Gibbsy go, if they fail, i will be sure to put up a stupid thread like you mate.

I agree with this. However i think he will turn into a decent 4 qtr player eventually
