Dale Thomas bashers

I'm probably one of Thomas' bigger defenders on here, so I may as well chime in -

Anyone who still says Thomas is a soft outside squib clearly hasn't watch him play at all this year. He's particularly stood up when it's counted the last couple of weeks in finals and has continuously put his skinny body on the line, got in-and-under going after the footy and ran his guts out. Great stuff Daisy :thumbsu:

He's been very impressive the last two weeks. I was a doubter but I think he is realising his potential.

That said he still prefers to play loose than get his own ball. But there is room for that kind of player.

He was one of our best last week, and this week. One thing about Daisy is that he loves the big stage. The bigger the game the better he seems to be.

Unlike Marc Murphy who went to water in his only final, Daisy takes his game to the next level. Hence why we picked him, no point being a finals squib like Murphy, finals are where reputations are made.

This thread is testiment to how overrated he is by Collingwood fans

I barely noticed him except for his headless chook running that had no impact on the ball carrier.

lol this thread is so ironic in what us non-collingwood supporters think about him.

He plays an average game and according to the toothless played an amazing game.

So incredibly overrated.

He played OK, did a few nice things...thats all.

Runs harder than any player at Collingwood and will always go when he needs to go. Once he builds a bigger tank and ups his possessions from 15-20 to 25-30 he'll be a very good player.

Would the main reason of why we picked Thomas be that Murphy was gone when it was our turn?

Murphy got 25 possesions and a goal and was not too bad. But if we are talking about finals squibs all must bow down to Davies. Undisputed king of all finals squibers

I still think that he's vastly overrated. One game doesn't make a player and tonight wasn't even any more than a good game by him. He's a reasonable player and should get better but, with the amount of coverage and attention that he receives, you'd have thought that he's already won the Brownlow.

Let us know when Thomas reaches Pendlebury's level, let alone Murphy's...

And had zero influence on a game where your team needed someone to stand up and stop the team choking. Tonight Daisy ran the lines, put his body on the line and did many good things to help his team win a final.

Big difference between the two, the downhill skier in Murphy will never do the hard things required in a final, just not in him. Doesn't matter anyway, probably never see him in another one anyway.

while some say he gets overated by collingwood supporters when he plays an average game, i think he also needs to play at an unrealistic level to get kudus by opposition supporters. the guy is hated, and will always be hated. no inspiring finals game, or subsequent thread will change anyones mind.

I thought he played well tonight, but it was one game. His year has been ordinary to average I would have thought AT BEST. One game doesn't make you a superstar.

Would have thought you blokes would be bleating more about Steele Sidebottom who stood up in a big game in his first year.

 Weird time to start this thread.

At the risk of someone bashing my football team or a player from my football team, as is the typical retort around here, I thought Dale was just good tonight.

He's played better games, yes this was a final but he wasn't special and definitely not thread-worthy. I wanted the Pies to win because of my brother, so don't accuse me of sour grapes or something.

What the hell? He was nothing special. I'm not having a go at him, well done to Collingwood, but I fail to see the thought behind this thread.
Would this thread have been made if Collingwood lost?

I didn't see anything inspiring about tonight's game by him. He played well, had a few hard collisons and got a fair bit of the ball. For such a highly skilled player, this should be par for him. He'll need a bit more than that to win over the haters.
