So yeh, Brian Schottenheimer…apparently?!

angry clint eastwood GIF

Lots of buzz amongst the local beat writers in Dallas today…nothing concrete (like an offical interview) yet though…

An offensive coordinator who wasn't allowed to call offensive plays.

I love how we wasted a year, sabotaged our side by allowing key players to leave and contracting duds, losing our defensive coordinator, just so we could prove that McCarthy wasn't it.

As we all knew at the time, Jerry's all in was absolutely nothing in. Take advantage of the fans and deliberately set us up for failure.

Now we have just as many holes as ever and have to start again with another yes man coach.

I agree with Dez here. It's not about the players' culture, it's about the Dallas culture. Dez couldn't do a thing to change that and nor can Micah, short of threatening to leave for success.

Warning - nsfw or around little kids, clips does contain some strong language

That is awesome and so true! 🤣🤣

If Shottonheimer is given the gig, this football team is not serious about Winning and JJ just wants a lackey until he can put Witten in ,in 2 years time.

and he will most likely announce it between the 2 games on Sunday just because he is a media who're.

I gave up on them at the start of the season, and I see no reason to have faith now.

We get a roster of good players and as soon as we need to make that final jump to win it all, we negotiate poor contacts, lose players and top up with has beens.

We are wasting the best years of Lamb and Parsons. It's little wonder they lose motivation in season.

Jerry Jones is a piece of shit for so many reasons, but being a total fraud for fans whose life revolves around this team, is the biggest of all. I hate him so much.

For most teams, the length of a head coach’s contract isn’t all that important: Successful coaches routinely get extensions before their contracts are up. Unsuccessful coaches routinely get fired before their contracts are up. Most coaches never complete a full contract.

The Cowboys are different: Their last head coach, Mike McCarthy, coached the entire length of his contract. The coach before McCarthy, Jason Garrett, also coached the entire length of his contract. In Dallas, Jerry Jones has established the precedent that coaches don’t leave because they’re fired or resign. They stay until their contract is up.

So it’s newsworthy that new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer got a four-year contract, according to Nick Harris of the Star-Telegram. That means he’s under contract through the 2028 season, which is also the last year that quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are under contract.

It’s not a guarantee that Schottenheimer’s job is safe for four years regardless of the results, but it’s a strong indication that Jones plans to have a team run by Schottenheimer, building the offense around Prescott, for the next four seasons. Four seasons during which Cowboys fans hope they can figure out a way to do something they haven’t done in three decades, and advance past the divisional round of the playoffs.
