Working at Werribee VFL this year as a football analyst/statisitician have come to know and build up a decent friendship with our reserves coach Dallas Normington.

He's a great coach and has built up a great a rapport with the new players who have come to the club this year, especially those from interstate.

Did some research on him seeing he played for Werribee in the then VFA, played state football and also spent time with Collingwood (1990) as well as Fitzroy (1992) after being initially being drafted from Kyabram (VCFL).

Does anyone remember him playing in the VFA ?

How come he never got much of a run at Collingwood or Fitzroy ?
 
I remember Dallas playing for Werribee in the early 90s, I actually knew some of his relatives. He may have even represented Werribee in the 91 and 93 Grand Finals, don't quote me on that, just having a guess. Was quite a handy defender back then, but can't say I know a lot about him.

I played on him in 1986 when he was playing for Melbourne in the Under 19's. ******** that's a long time ago!

He had just finished playing in the Teal Cup and from memory he was made All-Australian.

Excellent player. Hard and tough. He actually was reported on the day we played them and he copped 2 weeks.

He was an awesome player at Werribee.

Probably a fraction too small to get a real crack in the AFL but there have alot worse players than Dallas to play AFL. So he was unlucky.

Hope he is as our reserves/development coach his style is suited to this position because he gells really well with younger players, especaiily those from interstate and straight out of the TAC Cup.

Haven't seen them together, seen them apart from each other but I think I could as Axe has the goatee and his brother doesn't wear one from memory he is clean shaven.
 
Dallas played mainly for the Dees and played a few Wizard Cup equivalent games for the Dees - was too small to make it, but a good little player.
 
He might be small, but from what I have read on here there are some players who didn't deserve to be playing whereas Dallas might of got a chance at Collingwood or Fitzroy.

you can say this of about of hundreds players who play anywhere between 1-20 games of VFL/AFL. There are always players around in bush footy or local comps who were as good but didn't have the opportunities or lacked the application to play at the higher but ability wise are as good.

As far as Dallas goes he was a good player but when he went back to Melton it just showed that there were players running around in Bush footy that were better who never even had the opportunity to play VFL/AFL.

Do you ahve any idea how old he is, because he still looks quite young and should be playing coach for us in the reserves in my opinion ?

He's one of the sargents at the Werribee Police Station.
