Am I the only one who couldn't care at all about this? Sure, we've got a group of Saints players who have been stupid boys, but no-one (apart from the girl) has acted illegally. It sounds like she needs some help.

I would be concerned if I was the St. Kilda hierarchy though. There is a recent history of scandals. The Milne/Montagna issue, the Lovett issue and now this. It's obviously not as serious, but maybe sharing free-spirited girls isn't such a great idea.

Why does betraying a celeb demand a different law? Certainly sue her, but jail? Too severe a punishment. Better than shielding him. He is the reason this chick is linked with the Saints in the first place.

We saw what happens when you try and shield people with the Didak fiasco during the car crash incident. I know you like potting St Kilda but shielding people from their mistakes is everything that is wrong with leadership in a group environment.

And to follow through with that line it will be interesting to see if the club punishes Sam Gilbert. And the other three players, especially Dal Santo.

Either way this incident is extremely divisive for a club which already showed some signs of division with an exodus of coaching staff at the end of 2010.

There was no remorse shown by Riewoldt for allowing the photo to be taken in the first place.

Absolutely, unlike your club who constantly lie, cover up and pretend things never happen (Didak with Hudson, Didak and Shaw on the piss & of course Malthouse saying 'pest' ) our club is open and honest.

I'm pissed this has happened, but fact of the matter is it has and I want the right people to be held accountable for it.

This should be a valid question, however all the do-gooders who believe AFL players are role models, celebrities have social responsibilities etc.. cant have it both ways when something like this happens.

It is more likely to tarnish a celebrity's reputation. Jail probably would be harsh. But it is going to be a hell of a lot easier for some one in the public eye to prove defamation than an average joe.

Almost a case of criminal defamation, if what she has broadcast on radio is proven to be incorrect.

It wont be that hard to prove unless the decor of the hotel has changed in the past year or so.

Any journalist worth his money will be on the phone to the Florida hotel asking for photographs of the rooms to see if they match up with Riewoldt's claim that the photos were taken over there.

Gilbert could be charged for allowing pornographic material, which when you sum it all up is what the photos are, to knowingly (does anyone really believe the photos were stolen??????) be in the hands of a minor.

She is a victim and so are Riewoldt and dal Santo. If i was Gilbert though, I'd be watching my back and front - wouldn't want to be seen at the club for a while...he could have his head looking a lot different.

He was not only defending himself but also the image of his footy club. He was strong, forceful and to the point. No wavering or dancing around topics.

This is how he is amongst the group and the broader footy community just got an upclose view of why he is the captain of the footy club and possibly the best going around.

If he handled the Gilbert reference any differently, his retort wouldn't have been so strong and people would have asked more questions.
