Korn seems to dip his smelly unwanted toe in everywhere these days doesn’t he. Every second click headline that pops up in the sports feed is ‘AFL great roasts ???’ Turns out to be Kaneo instead.
This was his old man Graham. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it?

The critics like Cornes and Cornes overlook the fact that Houston wanted to return to Victoria for family reasons.
At least Port acceded to his wishes and did the trade - they could easily have been bastards, as they were with Nick Stevens.
Yes, we were the beneficiaries, but they got two players and draft picks.
I think Lukosius will blossom back "home", and Richards is a player I would have liked to stay, as I think he has plenty of upside.

They definitely didn't get full value for him and that's where I'd be annoyed as a Port fan, but I agree... Although Houston may have said he'd stay "if a deal couldn't be worked out", the way it panned out suggested otherwise. He was always coming home and it was never to North. I almost felt sorry for them, they were like the little brother who wants to play with the big boys.

Seemingly clubs just can't hold players to contracts anymore, but it now also swings both ways, to some extent, e.g. what we did a few years ago. Players want to go, they go. Clubs want to boot someone, more often than not they get it done. But there are no hard and fast rules and everyone plays a big game of charades at trade time.

Yeah, the Cornes family are still stuck in the idea as footballers as commodities owned by the club, rather than employees that you need to look after.

And frankly, it won't be even remotely surprising if we look back in 5 years time and history judges Port as doing very well out of the trade.

You’re missing my point - there is no way they should have given up a future first round pick with what they have ended up with. This is probably because I don’t rate Lukosious at all
How on earth GC managed to con Port in to giving up their future first for a fringe player who was on $1m a year I’ll never know.

I think GC must be paying a heap of salary cap - probably via Richmond paying Rioli's salary - that's the only way those trades make sense to me. I think Rioli is a NT marketing play by GC as well, but not to the size of that trade.

Although, it depends how you break up the trade - if we did only get 13 for Noble and future first then it was Port future first for Lukosius, Atkins and 29.

Let's hope the media tells us how much these club's are paying towards their ex players at oppo clubs, like they continually like to remind everyone what we are paying towards Treloar & Grundy.

It was an excellent bit of trading by GC. Underrated on their end, probably because of the price they paid for Rioli

It feels like we are criticising Kane Cornes for being disappointed about his club losing the AA HB of the last two years (who was contracted for the next 4) to a 2025 contending club, for a non-top 10 draft pick, a top 30 draft pick, a 9 gamer, and a fringe player from GC, basically lessening their own chances of contention in 2025.

If this was the reverse, we'd be fuming.

True. But it's our job to criticise Kane and even moreso his dad.
