Had he kicked it, people probably would of said how arrogant it was given they had already won....could of been just trying to show some humility?

Do you think Rooke was arrogant kicking a goal after the siren in the grand final last year too, considering we'd already won?

Re-read my post, not sure where I said that I thought the action of taking a shot after the siren was arrogant....I was just providing another scenario that could of been in Beams thought process.

Beams is a 50 metre kick on the run 45 metre kick from a set shot.

I would've had the shot...but he was absolutely buggered. I don't think he had the energy to lift the leg to kick the ball.

Given the Doggies players were down on their haunches, he should've had a crack because it might have even rolled through or something.

But it was more just relief to get the 4 points. I would've still had the shot, but I don't think its a big issue.

That was a conspiracy. I had a punt on Geelong to win by 5-6 points. Can't remember what it was paying but it was plenty. Worst thing was they didn't show the score for ages so I wasn't sure if the goal was counted. Devastating!

Rooke situation was different as the only thing that could effect was the punters, He had no need to kick it as they had already won the GF and percentage doesn't matter.

Beams should have taken the kick cause it is still part of the H&A season and percentage could effect ladder polstions at the end of the year.

From what I understand, Beams also knows the publican at Birregurra, who isn't a bright chap.

Before yesterday's game, Beams said to the pub owner 'How about for every goal I kick, you shout the bar?'

The owner thought long and hard before saying 'oh noooo, I've think I've been down this road before'.

Then Beams said, 'How about for every goal I don't kick, you shout the bar?' ... They then struck a deal. Hence the no shot on goal.

Everyone, get yaself to Birre - it's going off!

Ahh Bigfooty...damned if you do, damned if you don't. If he had taken the kick and injured himself then there would no doubt be a thread berating him for being stupid to take the kick when the game was over and his team had already won.

Hell even if he took the kick, kicked the goal and didn't injure himself someone would've probably still have had a go at him for showboating.

This. "Junktime specialist" would have got an airing too.
