omg some of you guys are absolute moron's.

We'd take Kerr in a flash. He doesn't look fit to me, and yes, he has struggled for a few games this season, but to say he's the most over rated player?? He is your best player at this stage. I honestly don't think he's fit, and is carrying an injury.

Nobody is blocking for him, or protecting him, they are content to let the opposition tagger where him like a glove.

Against Sydney he was double teamed, and nobody tried to change that. Against Port, Kane Cornes has tagged many many super stars out of matches before. Kerr however didn't do enough defensively on Kane.

Agreed.

My god I havn't laughed so hard for a long time hee hee hee this is a great thread who is the comedian who thought up this joke bravo Clap Clap.:D I mean no REAL West coast eagles supporter would say Kerr is overrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:As for his last couple of games if you havnt worked out already we are trying a differant game plan and unfortunatly kerr is suffering but as we saw in the 4th qtr of the port game with kerr backing out of the square once the ball was bounced it took K cornes out of the contest freed up other players an created space as there wernt so many people around the ball. Outcome 7 goals unanswered more free flowing ball movement and kerr got into the game because k Cornes was more efectively blocked off him. Its all about getting the game plan right and I think a lot of players a struggleing with new roles threw the midfield including Kerr.

Kerr is easily among the best 2 or 3 midfielders in the league.

The bloke just needs to hit some form, give him a few weeks, he'll get back to it.

there is no way kerr is one of the top 2 or 3 midfielders in the comp..

bartel, kornes, cross, hodge, mitchell.... wont name anymore..

he can't break a tag, and if he is injured why is he playing? more stupid decisions from eagles coaching staff.. welcome the judd of 2007

except for the simple fact that judd was actually a good player before he got injured

Kerry is struggling to shake the tag but guys like Stinger etc need to block for him.

His disposal has been the most dissapointing thing this season I thought.

He isnt fit.

The hard thing is because he cant kick further than like 30m at the moment he cant really rest up forward and snag a couple.

Kerr is clearly better (by any measure) than 4 of the 5 you name!

Kerr is a gun, if he hadnt been injured early in 2005 GF, then we would have won 2. For those who say he cant kick and so on, go back to the 2006 GF and look for Kerr in the last quarter running back deep into defence and then kicking it 50m across the ground (and across his body) to Brett Jones who didnt need to break stride - brilliant stuff under pressure.

As for his run later in that game that set up Armstrongs goal, his sheer will and his explosive running were unbelievable to see (and hard to see on the stats sheet)

Kerr loves pressure and rises to the occasion in big games he is a gun. Sure he is occasionally tagged out of games but he is one of the best going around. 2 ordinary games and he is shot? The 3 games prior to that he was almost leading the comp for posessions and doing it without a functioning kicking leg.

Last year he played several games without Cousins and with Judd as a more or less permanent forward - he was great.

The mods should seriously look at banning some of the haters from the site. Negative opinions, well considered are one thing but seriously Hank-Bulger and his ilk serve no purpose other than as pointless irritants!

We don't need to see Kerr rack up 40 possies in the WAFL for no reason. He's still an absolute gun and will get some much needed help in the midfield when Priddis comes back. He either plays AFL or he has time off, no WAFL.

Dude, r u stupid or stoned>?>??>>??

OK, look at this video. It shows Daniel Kerr doing lots of speccy shit which excludes him from the tag of overrated.

wow a few highlights from a grand final. that one at 215 he stuffs up because he gets himself into trouble as he does all the time cos he thinks he can beat everyone. can u make a video of all the errors hes done this year by foot and the hanballs and running back into packs and going back into traffic? if i made a highlights tape of chipper adkins it would probably be just the same. lcuky i had grinspoon to listen too so i didnt waste all that 2minutes of just total football genius

After watching that vid. kerr has a good overhead mark, he should take taggers to the goal score to shake the tag.

He was blocked and obstructed. He wasn't held much at all (not that I noticed). Kane always has a hand on his man, but he doesn't actually hold on and prevent them from running off, he just stays with them.

He was blocked and obstructed however, and the umps don't need to do anything about it because it was within 5m of the ball. The Eagles however need to start protecting him like they protected Judd, so that Kerr can get the ball more.
If you saw the photo in the West today you would see a clear example of Kerr being held. The ball was in front of him and he was going for it, but Kornes had both arms around Kerr. It would be nice if Kerr was protected by the other players like Judd was. However, I think it does not really suit him as much as Judd used to run on to it or take the handball receive, whereas Kerr goes in under the packs and grabs it himself. A bump would not really help too much then. We need Priddis back to take the quick handball off Kerr instead of Kerr trying to do it all himself.

Doesn't mean it happend the whole game. I bet if i had my camera on that contest the whole game, i would find a few times where Kerr was holding Cornes.

He has struggled but I put that down to his hamstring. How many games did he miss in the pre-season 5-6??

He admitted he had never done one before and he was nervous about running at full pace once he was cleared fit to play.

Once he gets back to full fitness I reckon we are going to see a different Daniel Kerr, he needs to break the tags by running his tagger into the ground.

Woosha said that not only is Daniel being tagged by his immediate opponent but teams seem quite content to have another two players leave their own opponents and go to Daniel - so even if one of our players gets between Daniel and say K. Cornes, then Chad Cornes is waiting etc.

Until we have other midfielders who pose a threat, then this will continue to happen. Judas thought he had it hard with taggers - and he had the likes of a couple of handy players in B. Cousins and D.Kerr to take the pressure off him!! Daniel is a great player - but he is not a superhero.
