Danny Stanley has been with pies for 3 seasons. This season has to be the defining season for him.
Get ready to see a super player emerge this year, via the hawks......Beau Muston is the player the pies should have picked up .
However the pies opted for Stanley over Muston,we could have had Muston, only time will tell who becomes the better player.
Any comments appreciated.

Last year dermie was asked "who is or will be your favorite player at hawthorn, and he replied, i love watching Beau Muston,he will become a champion,i just love the way he goes about his footy"
Rumoured to win the rising star this year, muston is ready to explode on the AFL in 2008.
Nothing against stanley but i wished we picked up muston instead.

Clubs were worried about muston when he did his knee pretty badly in the TAC cup, and it looked like one of those career threatening ones, reason he didnt play last year is because the Knee Reco. was a failure and had to go under the knife again. But was rated top 5 earlier in the year before that happened.

This is a piss take on all those Player X V Player Y threads isn't it?

If Muston's the player we should have taken instead of Stanley, then surely Warnock is the player we should have taken instead of Cook.

Hmmm, let's see - Hine vs Dermie, that's a hard one. Oh wait, no it's not - Hine by a mile.

Go Danny, stick it up 'em!

Beau Muston would have been a Top 3 pick if not for his injury, and that is without any of the usual crap that is spunnby recruiters.

He is unbelievably talented, but he also came with the package of an extremely serious knee injury, and when he had to have a second bone graft in his knee after being drafted, few were questioning Collingwood's caution at that time. Likewise, if his knee goes again (hopefully it doesn't), nobody will be criticising Collingwood's recruiting. 2005 was a crucial year in our rebuilding process, and Muston represented a risk that we simply couldn't afford at the time.

Sure, if Muston is able to stay healthy, he will be a very good player for Hawthorn, but even they passed on him 4 times before eventually drafting him with their 5th pick in the 2005 draft.

It's too easy to take pot shots at recruiters when you're using the benefit of hindsight and ignoring the context in which the draft actually took place.
