I agree LTAM, Waters had an outstanding finals series, and his kicking is improving still after his bad injuries in 2005 that kept him out for most of the season.

For mine it's a no-contest really. A tough, hard running midfielder/forward/defender/whatever who can kick goals, lay tackles and have a physical impact on the field, to an unnaccountable halfback flanker.

Watch Water's 4th quarter in the GF to see true guts and determination (although Ripper claims to not have watched it). He took some great marks down back and had a real impact on the game, took ten marks and was one of our best. Mundy's final series in comparison was very average.

I agree. personally liken him to dean solomon back in his prime except better. very promising player and was impressed with how well he applied himself during the finals. still a fan of mundy but think waters has him covered

I think Mundy is a fantastic player, and a very bright prospect, but from what I saw of Waters in the GF I think he is slightly ahead.

Gotta love Beau Waters even though he decked my love child Buddy.

On talent Mundy, but Waters is Archer mark II.

I voted Mundy because it's an unfair question really at this stage of their careers. Mundy has done more but Waters possibly might be more valuable in time.

If I could have called it a draw I would have.

Butter vs Nails

Its sad to see Waters being compared to such a hack really but someones gotta set those Freo ferals straight
Note to members of BF: Not all Eagles supporters are this dillusional.

To say Mundy is a hack just shows you have the brain of pea but slightly smaller.

Mundy looks like he will become a very Joel Bowden like player and for that I selected Mundy. Not an easy comparison considering they play completly different possitions.

The key for me is "Who would you prefer for your team?", in which case it is Waters.

I actually think Mundy might be the more talented player, but we could use a Waters-style hard man.

For such a young bloke, Waters played brilliantly in the GF. I've picked Waters.
I think its clear that neither freo nor w.c supporters would trade one for the other.
Everyone keeps mensioning waters great gf, he had an awesome game, ill admit that.
But give mundy the chance and im sure he'll do the same :thumbsu:
They are both great players, no1 can deny that (except for maybe f-u :))
but im obviously sticking to mundy, for the simple reason that ive seen more of him, and i think he has more talent..people would know what im talking about if they saw his mark of the year attempt last year

Would Mundy do the same if he had the chance though? Mundy's final stats aren't as impressive as Waters. People keep on going on about Waters GF stats because he had 26 touches and took 10 marks in such a tough game. Even in the last quarter he took a few crucial strong marks in the backline.

Anyway, I'm sure Fremantle fans are still happy with Mundy, as we're happy with Waters.

well i spose he hasnt had as much opportunity has he..
i mean 3 weeks really?? it was more that he just lost his form at the crucial part of the season.
It may have been the pressure that got to him, but if it did then give him a break coz hes only 21 and is sure to make a menze next year, just you wait.
And yes, that last statement is all that matters really. Who cares whos better?? otherwise we could just compare waters to say..pavlich. Does that mean freos better coz our player is better than yours?? hell no

This really is an apples and oranges poll.

Waters is a Woosha wannabe.....don't get me wrong, he is a fine player. But he has to start directing his aggression to playing footy, otherwise, as good as he is you will see him on the video link up more than you care to.
No doubt that Waters will be a fine player for the Eagles over the years if he learns to control this side of his game.

But to compare the two is ridiculous.

Bring on the foooty!!

You guys are getting bored.

I don't know how you come up with that conclusion considering Waters has played less games than Mundy and is younger than him?

He spent the whole of 2005 on the sidelines with a groin injury, he was just finding his feet again in 2006. He will star this year.

To those who bring up so called "cheap shots" (especially those with players like Carr and Crowley on their team  ), he learnt a valuable lesson with the Copeland incident, and was not guilty of anything illegal after that. He is a hard player who throws himself into competitions, that is all.
