I agree LTAM, Waters had an outstanding finals series, and his kicking is improving still after his bad injuries in 2005 that kept him out for most of the season.
For mine it's a no-contest really. A tough, hard running midfielder/forward/defender/whatever who can kick goals, lay tackles and have a physical impact on the field, to an unnaccountable halfback flanker.
Watch Water's 4th quarter in the GF to see true guts and determination (although Ripper claims to not have watched it). He took some great marks down back and had a real impact on the game, took ten marks and was one of our best. Mundy's final series in comparison was very average.
Note to members of BF: Not all Eagles supporters are this dillusional.Butter vs Nails
Its sad to see Waters being compared to such a hack really but someones gotta set those Freo ferals straight
I think Mundy is a fantastic player, and a very bright prospect, but from what I saw of Waters in the GF I think he is slightly ahead.
I agree it is a no contest, Mundy is EASILY the better player
Oh STFU!http://www.pro-stats.com.au/psw/web/compare_players?tid1=106&pid1=2004040&tid2=116&pid2=2004093
Bear in mind Waters stats are inflated because of WC's high possion tpye game plan.
I think its clear that neither freo nor w.c supporters would trade one for the other. For such a young bloke, Waters played brilliantly in the GF. I've picked Waters.
Everyone keeps mensioning waters great gf, he had an awesome game, ill admit that.
But give mundy the chance and im sure he'll do the same
well i spose he hasnt had as much opportunity has he..Would Mundy do the same if he had the chance though? Mundy's final stats aren't as impressive as Waters. People keep on going on about Waters GF stats because he had 26 touches and took 10 marks in such a tough game. Even in the last quarter he took a few crucial strong marks in the backline.
Anyway, I'm sure Fremantle fans are still happy with Mundy, as we're happy with Waters.
I don't know how you come up with that conclusion considering Waters has played less games than Mundy and is younger than him?well i spose he hasnt had as much opportunity has he..
i mean 3 weeks really?? it was more that he just lost his form at the crucial part of the season.
It may have been the pressure that got to him, but if it did then give him a break coz hes only 21 and is sure to make a menze next year, just you wait.

He spent the whole of 2005 on the sidelines with a groin injury, he was just finding his feet again in 2006. He will star this year.
To those who bring up so called "cheap shots" (especially those with players like Carr and Crowley on their team ), he learnt a valuable lesson with the Copeland incident, and was not guilty of anything illegal after that. He is a hard player who throws himself into competitions, that is all.
