its not a choke. He was on the red limiter in the first 2 sets. Sinner was nervous, Medvedev went nuts and shocked him. losing his serve in the 2nd set at 5-1 was the turning point. If he could have won that 6-1, he would have 20 mins more in his legs. He would have continued his momentum to that 3rd set. Who knows, he might have even got an early break and won it in 3.

He knew he had to win this in 3/4. The gas tank is low to empty.

While I am annoyed at the result and am disappointed for Daniil, if he wasn’t such a passive player he probably wins this tournament. He had to grind out wins vs Ruusuvuori, Hurkacz, Zverev. Opting, especially against Zverev, to take their legs. Well, now you’re the one with no legs in the final. We see what your aggressive tennis does and it was outstanding for the first 90 minutes, but ultimately you ran out of gas due to spending it unnecessarily playing your dire brand of tennis.
