any club that drafts this kid has rocks in there head.
he has'nt bothered to turn up to pre season with Swans yet
Let his team mates down all year with getting pissed regularly. not training, missing sessions etc etc
Has been seen out on numerous occasions ALL year , off his face ( has he been drug tested ?????? )
Has done some things that should have seen him locked up earlier in the year. ( those in the know , will know )
IF you think that moving interstate will fix things , you obviously don't know how the aboriginal culture works, the rest of his family and mates will follow him.

PLUS it makes a complete mockery of the clean image etc etc that the AFL is trying to promote if the clubs ignore the standards required by everyone else.

Leave him at Swans for another year to give him a chance to show he has REALLY changed. He might gain some respect then from his fellow team mates !!

Thanks Woosha

Sounds like a kid that probably needs to go on a rookie list first, earn the respect of his team mates and coaches and then if he can prove that he's legitimate and play consistently with no off field rubbish inevitably get himself on a list.

In a perfect world he would find his way to the Swans on a rookie list. I'd back guys like Goodes to pull him into line and show him the benefits of being a solid citizen. Whilst Sydney the city poses some challenges lifestyle wise, ultimately he is either going to be fair dinkum or will find trouble wherever he goes.

It would be sad for him later on to rue the life that football is capable of giving him, there are not many legitimate pathways where the average salary is $250,000, not to mention all the great friendships, experiences that being with an AFL club brings.

I don't think the choice is so much the clubs, the choice is Dayle's.

I read it like, "we are monitoring his situation closely and we are not ruling him out".
Perhaps, but Buckley saying "I hope for the young bloke that he gets an opportunity and that he takes it with both hands" to me sounds like "we won't take him but if another club does he'll need to pull his finger out to make it as an AFL player".

Or could read like that. :p

Best thing for this kid would to be rookie drafted. He knows he has got the talent to be at the pointy end of the national draft, but for him to miss out completely on the national draft just because he is a dickhead would be the massive wake-up call he needs, surely?

From what i know of him this is getting way over played and it may well be because of the WA clubs, not sure.

Hes been in a professional football environment for some time, hes not exactly a fat, extremely unfit sort of kid.

I see him out plenty of times and at the moment he goes out every night he can (3 a week) and drinks like any 18 year old probably would. Ive never seen him get into any scuffles or ever look like getting into one, he doesnt act like hes going to get in fights or as if hes on drugs (other than alcohol). Hes arrogant and knows hes good, but doesnt look a trouble maker.

Does he enjoy the party, drinking lifestyle? yes

Hes also performed very strongly the past 2 years at WAFL/U18 champs doing the same thing.

Im not sure why of the big fall off the radar of late, its getting over played massivily IMO.

Maybe he was with Newman when that bloke had his jaw broken, that could be a reason for his demise.

Unfortunately, this is spot on. Also has the nickname tupac, goes through two packs of Winnie Blues a week.

Wow, didn't get picked up at all, a possible top 5 or at least 10 pick and nothing.

He must have done something really bad. Wonder if we will ever hear?

Can you have drug strikes before you even play???

Wonder if he will get through in the Pre Season Draft or even Rookie?

I wonder what's going through his head at the moment...

Alternatively, it could crush him.

Football could've been his one last big hope.
You aren't wrong there broseph but the choice is now his - sink or swim.

He will tell you what you want to hear. I think he he thinks his killer smile will win everyone over and up until 12 months ago it probably did.

What's the old line......'Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me'.

At the moment he is probably the classic 1%er. Almost every AFL club has 1% of the list that causes 95% of the problems and Dale's last 12 months have made Clubs think he is a walk up start for that starring role.

His major problem now is that the media will never let him be. His cards are marked and even if he gets to a Club every mobile phone camera and video will be on his every move. Any pics or footage of him will be easy money from the media. A photo of him walking past a pub or smoke shop will be blown out of all proportion. Like Fev is a marked man so is Dale.

Don't you think the two are related. He isn't on an AFL list because recruiters don't want their clubs to be on the front and back page of the newspapers and on the SEN rumor rotation 24/7. If someone rookie lists him he will be in the media long before he has an impact at AFL level.

Maybe his cousin Jeffy can straighten him out at Carlton under the guidance of Eddy Betts
That could work
