Pistol Night , i turn 37 years old next week.

I wasn't even an adult when I saw Essendon and their last finals win.

Glad they beat the demons 104-99 that day. Had they not done that, their last finals win would of been the year before vs the dockers !

Yes.... I am officially old
Yep I’m 37 this year too. I was in year 12 when Essendon last won a final.

That’s true.

Bay 13 being mostly virgins is like some kind of universal constant.
It’s because Jazny is such a devout Christian and sets the moral standards for everyone.

Happy 20th Birthday, Essendon's last finals victory 😍

Happy Birthday Puppet GIF by Gerbert!
as a 90s Eagles kid, I feel like I should remind myself of this miracle whenever I happen to feel down.

Nadal was still unseeded at slam level then, Djokovic hadn't even debuted.

Congratulations to Norm Smith medalist Will Ashcroft who was only 4 months old the last time Essendon won a final

Nobody who is currently a teenager was born when Essendon last won a final. Let that sink in.

President Jimmy Carter, who today turns 100, was not even an octogenarian at the time. Veteran Australian actor Ray Meagher who plays the iconic Alf Stewart in Home and Away had just experienced his first week of being a hexagenarian. Now he is an octogenarian. One of his younger castmates getting established in the cast at that time was an obscure actor by the name of Chris Hemsworth.

And by the time we get to next year's finals series, Essendon's last finals victory will be closer in time to the 1983 America's Cup triumph by Australia II than to 2025.

They'll probably pick Carlton and St Kilda though
giants, brisbane, geelong and gold coast for me.

more sovlful teams than the rest of the bunch
