With 4 goals worth of days to go, we could have a number of players who represented number 24 with greatness, Gary Dempsey (Footscray and Norf), Chris Langford, but I'll choose another high flyer in Peter Knights, 264 games, 3 flags, and first coach of the Brisvegas Bears.

John Peck, Don Scott, Dermott Brereton, Buddy Franklin all wore the iconic #23 for Hawthorn, kicked 1921 goals between them. But Buddy is the standout, and will probably reach 1000 goals in his career, even if he is playing for $hitney. Who can forget the time he ran away from the hapless Essenscum* defenders, not once but twice, both should have been goals of the year!

The Dual Norm Smith champ...…..

Played most of his career with a bung knee and should have won a Brownlow but hey a 37 disposal game against Freo isn't going to get you 3 votes - is it Aker ??????

Facts a fact Jack

One line from 43000 posts ...yeah ...I go on about it.
Idiot

fq off

Must of touched a nerve.

Not directed just at you obviously but I see this comment come up all the time from "You Adelaide supporters".

Can't see any facts you supplied but if you want facts try these;

- McLoed did get 3 votes from the game against the Dockers earlier in the season (so two opportunities to poll against the wooden spooners).
- Akermanis only got 2 votes form Brisbane's one game against the Dockers
- Dockers beat Adelaide comprehensively in the last H&A game that year by 6 goals.
- Peter Bell had 44 possies and 3 goals to easily get the three votes followed by Fletcher and Black who both had 30+ possies and goals also.

No great surprise then AM didn't get the votes in that last game but do carry on like he was robbed by those nasty umpires and that Akermanis was undeserving winner.

Must have touched a nerve

You went to a fair bit of trouble there champ
Then take it up with the person who has banged on about it

Simples

Good thread doesn’t need your derailing input

Now
No 22
A feel good story - Andy Otten ( not fqn OttenS) came back from two knee recos and 960 days between senior games.
Got Life Membership this year of AFC and has been a great team man since he came to the club in 2008

Great leadership and ability to play swing man role makes him the ultimate team player

One of my faves

Wrong 22. and to paraphrase Anne Elk this is the thread that is mine, mine it is, it is my thread, and as such my pick of past AFL players to represent 22 days to go until the proper season starts is Barry Rowlings, 234 games for Hawks and Rihcmunt, including a flag in 76, but forced out with a knee injury so missed a flag in 78, shifted to Tiggersin 79, won their fairest and best, then won a flag with them in 1980.

21 today, 21 today, I've got the key to door, its 21 days until the season starts. Leapin Leo Barry, the scourge of the weagles, wore jumper #21, as did the big Q-stick. But lets recall the CarLoLton great Craig Bradley. 98 games for Paer in SANFL until being punished for being evil in a previous life and sentenced to 375 games with Carlton, but 2 flags in 87 and 95 means he has 2 more than the whole current Carlton team. Thats something to be proud of.
here he is about to do something that Kevin Bartlett never did:

Christ almighty!!! How did you guys manage to make him uglier!?!?!

I recon if he stepped in front of a freight train it would stop and hit reverse.

He was only 14 there!
Didn’t he something like 700+ games of footy?
****in’ freak of nature!

we are just a Jim Jess away from the opening of the 2019 season. I liked watching this guy play as I was growing up. 223 games and a flag for Richmond.

Jason Dunstall wore jumper #19, signifying that many days to go until the proper season starts. 269 games, 1254 goals! 4 flags, 3 Colemans, and maybe the best leading forward ever. Remember that game when he kicked 17 goals against Richmond? I do.
