Mental illness renders anything the man has said a lie or skewed? You sure about that? Hell, he spoke of suicide but because he's mentally ill we can't believe that either?
Your view doesn't suggest a great deal of knowledge about the varied nature of mental illness. Either that or your allegiance to the bombers won't allow you to acknowledge the fact that suffering anxiety or major depression doesn't t automatically make you a liar or someone with a poor memory.
Where did I say he lied??
But yes, don't worry, it can most definitely skew things.
I must of missed something, was did he allegedly skew?
It's really only a case of his word vs someone else isn't it?
Who knows what exactly was skewed?
I'd say a fair bit of it, in some way.
My point is this is not a man in a fit state of mind to be giving "evidence" that people are using to make conclusions (ie justify their existing biases). This was apparently recognised during his ASADA evidence and he cut it short.
Anyone relying on any of that interview is kidding themselves. Hes not right, that was the only thing that was blatantly clear. He needs care and treatment, not a predatory media dangling cash and "hope" in front of him for their sick purposes.
If we are to dismiss his version of events then the natural conclusion would be that he was lying about certain details, halucinating or has recoded memories to suit his mental state. Just as we can dismiss Hird's version of events because its possible he would lie to protect his job. In both cases, both men lack credibility. Don't bother with an investigation or subsequent interviews because nobody is telling the truth.Where did I say he lied??
But yes, don't worry, it can most definitely skew things.
They've taken a desperate man and offered him "a way out". He was always going to jump at it. You could tell from the first bloody question.
I dont beleive he's thinking straight at the moment nor probably recollecting things 100% accurately. I think he's trying desperately to present things not malicisiously, but in a manner which may help him slay the demons in his head.
All Channel 7 wanted was to prod him for the most marketable shit possible. Which they did.
And yes, unfortunately due to experience I'm very well versed in the ways of depression and anxiety. That there was not a man giving a balanced account of things which should be picked apart minutely and pored over in an attempt to find "evidence" for whatever biased view people have on either side. That there was a desperate, broken man in a pretty bad place.
What a hilarious clusterf' of a post! Was great to see the Gerry Gee and Ron Blaskett Dummy & Ventriloquist act last nite.
Alias McVeigh with Hird's arm up his back.
One minute McVeigh says it was only vitamin C injections they took.
Next he says, he doesn't know what they were given.
One minute he says it was a lie, Robinson never spoke to the playing group.
Next minute he says, Dank & Robinson spoke to the playing group and Hird and Dr Reid weren't present.
I think the sheeps brain blood has affected his own brain!
No wonder he screwded up the opportunity to captain the club by going out on the piss instead. And glad he did too, what a joke this guy is!
I hope Kyle Riemers sues the arse off him. Or runs into him in a bar somewhere.
Good on Mark Stevens(the only journo on the panel) for asking the hard questions. Since when does Luke Darcey do interviews with no jounalist degree? No wonder they didn't allow Stevens to do it!
All the other Brotherhood Boys stuck up for Hird as they would.
Bruce sat on the fence as expected.
It was pathetic!
Lance Armstrong also denied for years he was a drug cheat too! They ALL do!
Give up pal.
Full marks for wriggling, but you're sounding pretty lame arguing semantics about things not being a lie but just being something of a misunderstanding/different term etc etc etc.
And people here are trying to say Essendon supporters are being argumentative and clutching at straws.
Fact is Robinson lied about the raid. Call it whatever you like. You just don't want to admit that it shows he has Hird in the gun and will lie through his teeth to try to make him look bad.
His credibility is zero.
He has a job waiting for him at the Age when Wilson retires (is sacked? has the pants sued off her?)
So in review, could we say that Robinson's accusations are neither completely honest, nor are they completely without basis, and that this renders Essendon's response neither a positive act of denial nor an admission that anything was awry?
In fact, the only thing this interview did was add to the noise, and tell us that if all goes pear shaped 17 clubs looking for midfielders to add to their A or B rotation are going for Zaka.
I thought you'd stopped arguing?
Clearly you have all the conviction of a Melbourne board member
But FWIW...semantics is EXACTLY why only a dill would try to claim Robinson was "lying" about the "raid"....its easily defendable.
Anyhow...this is too easy....I bought a ticket to a new movie for you....... called Hirds Unexpected Holiday......seat 1A . Bye!!
It's an aerobic game, you just can't run 15km per game carrying excess luggage around. I remember going to the 2004 Preliminary Final, i had seats near the boundary and the first thing i noticed when Brisbane ran out on the ground was how much bigger they were than Geelong. What a great synopsis JackFlash!
And you should also keep in mind that as Paul Haynes was head of fitness/training at Geelong - Thompson and Robinson were curtailed from increasing the bulk of Cats players too much or too quickly, because Haynes was a believer in aerobic conditioning for AFL.
Finally you've seen the light mister! Yay for you! What a hilarious clusterf' of a post!
He certainly changed his tune when he originally claimed he was only injected with vitamin c & vitamin b for a cold.
McVeigh admitted to having off-site injections, but said these were to ensure a sterile environment.
He added they were for vitamins B and C.

McVeigh said he was 100 per cent comfortable with the supplement treatment and insisted the vitamin booster injections were simply to help lift immunity and energy levels."We were taken off-site into a sterile environment (because) footy clubs sometimes can be not that clean - filthy, absolutely filthy," he said."So we were taken into a sterile environment and the only injections that I ever had was a vitamin C or vitamin B injection, which would be at the time I had a little baby girl."I wasn't getting much sleep. I was run down. I had a bit of a cold."I had a vitamin C injection. It is not uncommon. Natural vitamins they are."That's all they were, nothing any more sinister than that."

"The raid"- word soons get around the neighbourhood a high profile identity has been raided by the cops. You know the deal, usually about 3 or 4 plain wrappers parked discreeetly down the road at about 6.00 a.m when everyones still asleep. At the appointed time, they all descend on Hirdy's joint and the warrant officer bangs on the door and reads out the warrant to Hirdy and then they all march in, oblivious to the neigbours peeking though their windows, who are deeply concerned about the disturbance in their neck of the woods. Of course none of this gets out to the media, not even by the law enforcement agency itself. Only Hirdy, is prepared to let The Weapon know his "early morning wrestle" was unceremoniously interrupted.

They simply had bigger bodies and had obviously benefited from 4 years of solid work and success, it took Geelong another 3 years to build their own bodies up to a level that would see the perfect balance of both physical and aerobic fitness.
Essendon went too fast, they stood near the end of the line after the 2010 season finishing 14th and with Hird now in charge he wanted an express package delivered to Windy Hill ready to compete and match it with the big boys inside of 2-3 years. Well it doesn't work that way, if you look at Geelong's rise to power it took them approximately 5-6 years to develop the list from those great draft years they had in the early naughties.
This is the Golden Boy we are talking about and with his return to Essendon i believe he had no patience to wait around 5 or 6 years for his list to build up and mature into the competitive unit he wanted to see out on the field. I have no doubt they went to the edge and their problem appears to be that they have taken one step to many and you know what happens when you do that near the edge of a cliff? Huge errors of judgement have been made at Essendon.
The game is based on aerobic fitness these days and everyone is mesmerised by the abilities of Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Rioli, Motlop etc
In days gone by a bloke like Franklin for example would've been played exclusively as a ruckman, yet he is a 196cm 103kg aerobic athlete playing in the forward line. He runs fast, has great stamina and can kick the ball 60 metres.
No ones doubting it wasnt a "raid" in the true sense.....the issue at hand is whether Robinson exaggerated.....or Robinson lied about Hird having any dealings at all with the cops.....
My money is on the first.
"I can't say that everything he said were lies, but certainly I would like to see the proof," Watson said.
Watson, ....did not watch the full interview
A few silly comments there, but I'd think too, considering he was at the club last year, he'd have a far better idea of what went on that any single person here. Now Jobe Watson has own dumb opinion http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...on-as-hird-hires-burnside-20130802-2r3kh.html
Now he just said he wanted to see the proof of what Robinson, but then goes on to say he didn't see the whole thing. So it seems that Jobe is quite prepared to make statements without seeing all the evidence, but then is aghast that it is happening to his club.
Didn't his Tim teach him to keep his mouth shut when adults were speaking?
Well said. I think this is where Sando made a mistake this year at Adelaide. He arrives at Adelaide with the players in great aerobic shape thanks to Neil Craig's cycling/aerobic regime, and he immediately drops the bikes, gets the boys into the gym and boxing ring. We bulked up, but we still had several years of aerobic base strength behind us. This year, the pre-season again ignored aerobic training and as a consequence, we have struggled to finish out games. There obviously has to be a balance between the two. Sando recognises that he made an error on our pre-season this year. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts.

Sando should tell the troops to just do what Rory does, that would be a good start.
Sloane would be the hardest working player in the comp.
And Jenny, I think Essendon's PR got a hold of Tex Walkers Twitter account. There is no off button for Rory!
