Haven’t been able to stop thinking about this today..

I’ve only been on this site for around three years but Deaneus, like many have said here, has always been one of the members of this community who’s posts I’ve always really enjoyed reading..

Its funny, I’ve never met the bloke.. I could walk past him in the street and obviously be totally unaware that it was him, as with possibly all the members on this forum, but I feel terribly saddened by this news..

Good to hear that’s he’s still with us. Only been on the board for about 3-4 years. But I think his posts are by far the best!

On a side note, who’s shocked to learn that Deaneus’s real name is Jay? Feeling a bit silly thinking his name was Dean all these year...

I think his name is Dean. I think fudd was talking about another user 'All In' who must be either friends or family of Deaneus.

Not much of a praying man but if I did, I'd pray to the FSM to help get deano through this.

Hi Everyone,

Good News. No official word just yet (still waiting to talk to surgeon) but he made it through the surgery and is now in CCU recovering. So far so good and heading for a victory in round one for our man Deaneus.

They did ask him what team he goes for and he said Adelaide so nothing important missing.

All the words on here have been really encouraging and supportive, he has appreciated it but simply hasn't had the time to respond.

Boy he knows some people!

Good to hear.

Got to be honest, my heart skipped a beat seeing this thread atop the Adelaide Board just now.

Thanks for the heads up All_In.

Great to see that Deanus is in recovery and will be able to continue the fight against this bastard of a thing called cancer.

My message to Deanus is hang in there mate and never ever give up. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and told I'd be dead in 5 years max.

I told the oncologist that I ****ing well won't be and I'm still here. Eventually he tried a new treatment with a 3% chance & it worked - I'm still in remission.

So I guess what i'm saying is don't ever ever give up Deanus - never.

Yes, the odds might be stacked against you, but just keep fighting. You just might beat it.

I pray you do,
