Yes it is that time of year again Santa is on his way.

Do you remember when you stopped believing in Santa? And who it was that told you that Santa wasn't real?

Kids these days seem to disbelieve at and earlier and earlier age.

For the last 3 Christamas's I know we've been saying 'this will be the last year' that my son believes. But it hasn't happened yet.

Even at 9 years old, the asked me the other day if he could get some of my writing paper out so that he could write a letter to Santa.

I'm pretty sure this will be the last year he believes, but I'm still dreading the day he doesn't believe anymore.

I stopped believing when I was 9is. People had been saying that Santa wasn't real for years then, and I was starting to doubt more and more, but it wasn't until my grade 4 teacher sat us down with a book that explained the history of santa claus, and st nick, that I finally was sure he wasn't real.

I still kept up the charade with my parents until I was about 12 though, and even now, at 20, he still seems to bring me things... Ahh it's a bit of fun right? I think my dad enjoys doing it still - when he asked his mum if santa was real at 5 years old, she said no, and that was the end of all the extra presents.

i remeber the night that i found out, i was in the car with me dad and i was probably 6 i reckon and i was goin on and on about what Santa would bring me for christmas, and my dad was a bit stressed out that day and hearing me rave on and on what i might get, he goes "HOLLY THERES NO FARKEN SANTA CLAUSE HE'S NOT REAL!!!!, and i shut up after that :(

When I was in Grade 3, I was 8. We were colouring in pictures of Santa coming down a chimney, and I was probably the last person in the grade that still believed. Anyway. My friends mentioned how he wasn't real, and I was arguing with them that he was, and they were like "Come on, flying reindeer?" and "How could he really get down a chimney?" Eventually I realised he wasn't real. Not that it stopped me getting presents from Santa for quite some time ;) :D

I can't remember what age it was, but my sister and I sat on my bed one night and watched Mum and Dad put the presents out. :D I don't think we really cared anyways as long as we got the presents. :D

I don't remember ever believing or not believing as such but it was always Father Christmas. Yes, Father Christmas . . . have you all truly been calling him Santa all this time or is it just more Americanisation of our language??

Yeah I always knew the fat bastard as Father Christmas when I was a kid.

Santa is merely an anagram anyway.

yep always Father Christmas at my place...

I stopped beliving, I dunno, when I wsa aobut 7. I cried and cried and cried when I found out. But I still get the presents :D And my sister who;s 7 still believes so we're gonna get heaps of prezzies for a few more years :D

My dad told me the other day about when one Christmas Day, I was 3, and I ran over to my parents when I woke up and said 'guess what! it's Baby Jesus' birthday today!' lol

I remember going on holiday a few days before Christmas when I was about 8ish I guess. We stopped at our shack that we were staying in and I helped unpack the back of the car. I looked in the back and saw my xmas bag that I hung up and it was full of presents. I didn't say anything however. Just loved the pressies ;).

Btw I've always called him Santa...father christmas was always the posh name!

How is Santa Claus an Americanisation? That name comes almost directly from the name of the 'real' Santa, St Nicholas. Father Christmas is a far more Americanised term!

I'd just turned 7, and I asked my Dad about a week before Christmas "this Santa Claus visiting everyone from the north pole with his reindeer, it's not real is it?"
I think I was more relieved than anything else when Dad admitted the truth - for some reason it didn't make sense to me any more. And I still got the presents, under the condition that I didn't tell my brother and sisters; which I never did. They all sussed it out for themselves at about that age.
