A meeting of the AFL commission on Wednesday afternoon will determine the outcome of Sunday's controversial drawn match between St Kilda and Fremantle at Aurora Stadium.

AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said at a media conference on Monday afternoon that league investigations officer Allan Roberts had consulted timekeepers and other staff on Monday about the events at the match, in which the Saints snatched a late draw after the field umpires failed to hear the final siren.

Anderson said the AFL commission was empowered with determining the outcome of the match because it had final authority to deal with the rules of the game.

And the commission will be given until Wednesday in order for both the Saints and Dockers to be given enough time to properly present their cases to the AFL.

The worst thing about this news is the fact that it looks like the Saints are going to put a case forward for them to keep the points. It's bad enough they didn't concede the points and show some sportsmanship but to actually put up a fight for the points is just WRONG!!!!!

Wow, that would be pretty poor sportsmanship.

It appears the umpires have closed ranks too and are offering up the "didn't hear a thing".

I hope we fight this one all the way on principle.

If you boy's aren't given the 4 points, I suggest that you just refuse to play again. Not show up. Send all your players back to the WAFL, and tell the AFL to get stuffed. At least they'll be playing on better grounds with better umpires.

This would make us look like gutless whimps.
The best outcome is for our boys to come out firing against the Eagles, and play some blo'ody good footy to show that we are a premiership contender and that beating the Saints at Aurora wasn't a fluke.
