Anyone got any information on why Lake Tyers got kicked out of Omeo League after playing in the Grand Final (can’t remember year….maybe late 90s) and never came back? Based on their location I would’ve thought they may have played in the East Gippsland league?
Poor crowd behaviour, lots of complaints, implied threats, language

I played my last year of juniors at Kennington and the senior clubs the following year I was to play for folded. So played U18s at Northern United and the following year that club folded after just playing 1 game in the 2s
Only found my way back to this thread because I got a like , but an interesting report I came across here.

Also Northern United is a merger of Kamarooka and Neilborough (which aren't in the list) and played out of Raywood

Yarroweyah (Picola & District FNL) into recess. They have struggled along in recent years and only fielded one senior football team at times.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will be difficult for them to come out of recess and be successful. Best find a merger partner to keep the club's name alive.

Honestly, considering the amount of clubs in a 20km radius of Yarroweyah based in bigger towns they've done a great job hanging on for so long. Hopefully they can come back in some form in the future.

Ironically millions of $ have been spent upgrading the Raywood Reserve recently, new surface, lights, drainage etc. But there is no footy or cricket club playing there any longer (think Mitiamo from up the road train there at times and play a game or two there each season).

A waste.

Does anyone know where Bena played? Looked around on Google maps for a bit but there doesn't seem to be a ground in or near the town. Did they play at Korumburra?

I thought they played at the Korumburra Showgrounds and Korumburra played at the Rec Reserve.

I remember watching a Korumburra game at the Rec Reserve but can't remember what year it was.
Thanks, that would make sense. I did wonder why Korumburra-Bena didn't play at the Rec reserve.

Why then now that they are merged don’t rotate or share home games at both grounds? Am I right in saying that the Rec Reserve is now a soccer pitch? Showgrounds a better option hence why it was chosen?
