I'm ok with him being in the leadership group, playing SANFL...It'll be interesting to see if he's in the leadership group again next year.

That's a big "if".Only if the coach gets a captain’s pick.
Can’t see him in it if we want to be serious.
Shirley was 10 times the player Murphy is. Actually provided something positive. I remember Shirley had 20 touches often and even a 30 touch game one time, Murphy struggles to get the ball 30 times in a month. AND Shirley didn't butcher most of them.the only other one i can think of that compares with 100 games or more was rob shirley (i know some liked him) but I thought he was a spud too
Players that should be dropped but won’t be, shouldn’t be in the leadership groupROB ain't getting dropped next year
Not while the only other option is Strachan you'd have to think , been there done that. God help us if ROB cops an injury.ROB ain't getting dropped next year
Hopefully Turray has a big pre seasonNot while the only other option is Strachan you'd have to think , been there done that. God help us if ROB cops an injury.
ROB ain't getting dropped next year
Indeed he was, but with the coaches having seen how Strachan performed I think he'd want to be going really poorly to go down the Strachan path again?Wasnt he dropped this year?
And how’d that go?Wasnt he dropped this year?

The amount of 1 or 2 touch last quarters Murphy has dished out when the game is on the line should be enough to see him gone, let alone what he does / doesn't do for the first 3 quarters.
Best thing about dropping ROB for Strachan was it solidified that Strachan's not the answer. A developing ruck is a critical list need.Indeed he was, but with the coaches having seen how Strachan performed I think he'd want to be going really poorly to go down the Strachan path again?
ANB said he was most looking forward to playing with Ranks and Murph so I'd suggest keeping Murph was in his trade terms.
in the presser he only mentioned Keays, in the write-up version I saw - it said "Murph and Keays, the other half forward flankers" or something. Not super doubting it, but it sounds like an add-on considering how much he glowed about Keays in the presser.ANB said he was most looking forward to playing with Ranks and Murph so I'd suggest keeping Murph was in his trade terms.

You're right, it was not Ranks, but Keats along with Murph. So he’s expecting to play some reserves footy with Murphy, seems strangeYou're right, it was not Ranks, but Keats along with Murph. It was in a YouTube short.
He has played 115 games and has the total of ONE game where he has had over 20 possessions (22 in 2023) over his 7 seasons!
This is the definition of a mediocre AFL footballer.

AFL.com.au have him nowhere near the best 22 (or 26). The first few weeks of 2025 will be very interesting. Which name/s from the forwards area there can we pencil in for a short-mid term injury the week before Round 1 opening the door for Lachie Bradbury?
Would the AFL even know he’s on the list?View attachment 2180248

Do not underestimate the Power of the Smurph.
He was recruited as a small forward by Pyke despite playing the previous season as a defender in the SANFL. Our gun recruit from the Kangas was about to line up for his gazillionth consecutive game, was injured in our last trial match and the rest is history.
Last year I had Smurph 32nd on the Vaderlist but an unlikely series of injuries meant by Round 1 he was the next man up. I personally believe injuries and loss of form to our small forwards will disappear if Smurph is delisted.
The great Chris Judd said Shirley was probably his best tagger... He hardly ever lost.the only other one i can think of that compares with 100 games or more was rob shirley (i know some liked him) but I thought he was a spud too
