I have nfi mate but from what I've read VB are very intent on offering a legitimate competing product to QF and if they are dropping one line of service (premium economy - albiet unprofitable) then you'd think they would want the other one up asap so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Just had a look at the Qantas sight and did a brief check of some flights from GC to west coast, couldn't find a direct one but only did a couple dummy checks.
Qantas don't operate to the Gold Coast at all. Qantas pulled most services out when Jetstar went live. They removed their last Sydney services a few years later when people adjusted to Jetstar
If Qantas was still in charge, they would have operated a charter for those services, similar to what they had in place for Launceston games.
I have no doubt that Virgin will try and arrange something. The first Business Class enabled plane they have will be scheduled for all of PER-OOL, PER-BNE, PER-SYD, PER-MEL game requirements.
Chairman's Lounge membership is extended to leaders of business, board members, celebrity types, some politicians, etc. etc. There are approximately 15,000 of them out there... And now there's one or two less. AD was one, maybe Adrian Anderson was one as well. Doesn't matter.
