One involves talking, the other involves actively discriminating between people of different races?

Also, please don’t suggest that for the amount of talking in public Eddie has done for three decades, racist slurs have been a theme or feature of his content.
Sure, but I think broadcasting racial slurs is pretty obviously "acting" racist.

I did not suggest that. You're inferring that from absolutely nothing. No need to be so defensive.

Sure. Not confident about how much that helps reduce racism nor improve the wellbeing of victims thereof

“Acting” racist is therefore an umbrella term which includes, but is not limited to, using racist slurs.

Not to worry TRS some people are great at being likeable and amusing, we just have to make allowances for everything else they do.
It's OK jonbe54, I enjoy everything you do.
Believing in chakras could be considered a mental illness by some… :D

Actually studies on the location of nerves in the body have provided some scientific support for the existence of chakras.

Actually many scientific studies of the time insisted that the world was flat and the centre of the universe.

On the subject of the nervous system . . .

There is a school of thought within the Chiropractic profession that proper manipulation of the spinal column can alleviate many disorders and conditions as all the connecting nerves to all of the major organs flow down the spinal column and branch out.

Thus improper alignment of the vertebrae can lead to illnesses and conditions.

A flat earth would make it easier for deliveries and logistics.
Depends where they split the globe to flatten it out. If they split it down your street your neighbor would become kms away 40,000. jmac70 is advocating for the divide to occur in Footscray

My head tells me no chance, my heart tells don't get involved it will only end in tears, my gut tells me we are in with a solid chance & the my lower level chakras are still tingling post Carlton victory. I not really surprised to learn you are a flat earther jonbe54. I suppose you talk about a sunset rather than the earth moving away from the part of the sky the sun is in.

I like lower level chakras as a euphemism.

Not in the least Noclu simply an illustration of the fallacy of quoting 'scientific studies'.

Time will tell the tale all the boys can do is bring their A game and play with their heart.

I could point out quoting scientific studies is not the fallacy, believing they tell the whole tale is. I won't, that would be crossing swords. On the other hand, I hope the boys bring their head, heart, gut and nether regions to the game. :p They may not rate in historical terms as an enemy but the only thing that would make me tingle more than the Carlton match would be a flogging of the Cats this weekend.

I dislike them a fair bit because they are the only club in the entire AFL that has their own EXCLUSIVE USE ground and the AFL coddles them by making sure they get the weaker teams to play down there.

THAT is the reason they are perennial finalists.

There are a great many thoughts out there, proving them is the hard part.

Absolutely - I'm always reminded of the single greatest fact in human experience though - today's 'scientific fact' is tomorrow's fallacy.

In the scale of human history it was only a few minutes ago that doctors were advising their patients to smoke cigarettes to ease stuttering.

That's not an attack on the medical profession TRS just a simple fact we are an ignorant species with more to learn than we can ever comprehend.

Science is overrated.

The world needs more leaders who are sceptical about the 'scientific method'.

A faith in science is a faith indeed .
'Science' has a long record of getting it badly wrong and then covering it up. This should never be forgotten. Mix science with money and recognition and you have all the norms of human fallibility. Mix "science" with politics as well and you have a disaster waiting to happen.

Because for the majority... White coat syndrome will make you voluntarily walk into the gas chamber. Your 'faith' makes it possible.

Faith in science caused people to walk into gas chambers. I'll trust what you say is true.

This has been a day of learning.
