Victory is for bad/evil people
Heart is for the average Joe.
Hahahaha.

Heart was born off Victory's success. If it wasn't for us winning 2 titles and losing one on penalties you wouldn't exist. An absolute joke of a club who will struggle to be around for the next 5 years.

I don't get this whole third kit notion, I know it's a way to interact with members but their kits are already good and avoid every clash (I think).

Totally forgot to check back on here!!!

This is what my design would have looked like. I love that style.

Here is another one, a bit too St Kilda-ish.

They narrowed it down to a top 3.

Here they are.

I like the bottom one, but it could have been made much better. White instead of grey.

Worst about the rivalry is that it's based on nothing. Unfortunately, there's no socioeconomic or geographical persuasions about either side. They're all encompassing because they need to be. Heart should be for the city and inner suburbs, Victory for the outer suburbs.

MH has pretty strong ties to the northern suburbs, with its alignment to La Trobe uni. Personally, I support the Heart, because Geoff Lord was running the show when the Victory started up. I've never felt any particular fondness for the Victory. This will all sort itself out in the years to come, as it seemed to do without any real issues with twelve VFL clubs in one state. There's no real rhyme or reason why I support Geelong in the AFL (I just followed my older brothers); they are the furthest Victorian club from where I live and have been all my life. Kids will grow up and hop on one bandwagon or another (depending on which kits they like the best, which players they prefer, who's doing better that year) and it will go from there. If MH continue to clearly make the northern suburbs a priority, well there's plenty of intra-city rivalries which are built on a north/south of the river vibe, even those where a tenuous religious affiliation to a particular club exists.

Having said that, the people who feel the need to try to replicate the atmosphere that they see in European games are absolute tossers and are everything that is wrong with soccer (in my opinion). I had tickets to the MV v MH season opener at Etihad and sat in a MH section, which ended up being their cheer squad section...awesome. It almost felt like I needed to tap a few of these young angry boys on the shoulder and tell them that there was a game going on out on the pitch, as they seemed to have no interest in anything other than inciting the opposition supporters. And the police barriers after the game to seperate supporters as they leave the ground...please. That has never been necessary (as far as I'm aware) in the VFL/AFL and I find it sad that they feel it is needed for a soccer game in 2012.

Yeah the third one could have been executed better. White replacing grey, thinner stripes that are joined and don't go on the back of the jersey, and also have the numbers higher on the back.

I think the black third kit is overdone in soccer anyway, so definitely not a fan of the second one. From a supporter's perspective, an all black third kit to be worn in the middle of Summer isn't the greatest idea in the world either. The third one would get my vote, but agreed, the St Kilda inspired version looks much better. Still, I think it would be good for the team to do something different and since it has used grey as a colour, I'd prefer the third kit with grey as the main colour. The old Victory grey away kit looked sensational.

Think you got that around the wrong way, since the Victory was there representing the whole of the state then along came the Takeover Squad and tried to tell everyone how they were the Heart of Melbourne.

Nah, Heart supporters dont turn on their own after only losing one game and rant on radio saying they want them to go, eg Allsop, Brebner, Pondeljak, and don't shaft their coaches, eg Merrick, Durackovic.

RUBBLE RUBBLE RUBBLE... Go Heart!

Anyhow, I think it's cool that they've run this competition. The 2nd one is sh8tting it in in terms of facebook likes. So it should too, looks fantastic. That said, as a late comer to Heart I decided to track down last year's ISC strip. Kappa makes a terrible looking strip, way too much like a rashvest.

A few months ago Rebel Sport were practicaly giving them away
I got one at South Morang, on a rack saying something like "All $40"
They had Home and Away ISC tops, Recently saw an away one, but it's back to $120
