Do you know this for a fact?

I'm sure he said that. Start of the year when he was being interviewed by SEN about Travis. He said he will manage all 3 of his sons and possible others if they met the right criteria’s.
It was along those lines.

Just checking............... ;)

we'll take Jason, just so Hamill doesn't have to play on him.

Interesting though that he's only played 2 games and one of them he dominated an inform Hamill.

Helps with the conspiracy theory, though Malthouse does have a history with out of favour players, Betheras and Mullins coming to mind. He can be a stubborn git.

He clearly plays favourites either positively or negatively towards certain players

Most people point to that there is no room in our back line for him to get a game, which is quite funny coming off 2 thumpings where our backline has been smashed

He would probably get a game at St Kilda with all your injuries to key backman as well. There are plenty of clubs that he could get a go, and he should be at Collingwood. Mick is even trying players who should be up forward down back instead of giving Jase a go

Theres gonna be a running of the bulls in Pamplona to take him up on that isnt there...

He may well be a very accomplished player manager. Remember most of the opinions on here are tainted by the fact that he is also their father and some of the things he has said or may say would be seen in a different light if it were another player.

While I would have liked to have kept Rupert and still can’t believe he didn’t play in he 2003 GF no one else picked him up. Mullins didn't play because he wasn't ready and/or not good enough. A better example would have been Scotland who was ripped off. The problem Jason has is that Collingwood have had a fit and stable back 6 that have been performing very well. He isn’t going to replace Wakelin, Presti or Clement and Maxwell has deserved to keep his place. That leaves Cloke without a place. Given the forward injuries and the reality of our ladder position I'd play him in the backline for the rest of the year and move Maxwell and Clement around but MM doesn't do that sort of thing.

How weak are McGuire & Malthouse. Giving in to the demands of a demented father & manager. They shouldve called his bluff cos probably no one would want his kids. I spoke to someone down at Richmond about 2 years ago & was told that they wouldnt mind taking on the kids as players but werent prepared to take on the parents. Seems like a good move to me.

Yep, that's why they picked him alright..............

Damir gambled on mick and eddie having as little character as the average collingwood supporter.

Of course, he was right.

How do Collingwood supporters feel about their weak, timmid and gutless selection committee? Does this reflect the character of all Collingwood supporters?

Me thinks: Yes.

i hope their backline gets smashed tonight. very very weak decision by mickey and ed

There are far, far worse defenders than Jason Cloke running around in the AFL. One example for you- Scott Thornton at Fremantle. Jason just needs to learn to play a bit closer and to use his size better and he could be a very handy FB or CHB. He is actually quite mobile, so he could play a Cornes role if he had a bit more support around him.

I think Jason has been the victim of supporter backlash, his father's input and the fact that he has been a target ever since he went on TV to sook about his suspension for hitting Tyson Edwards. That is entirely his fault, but I don't think that he deserves the flack he gets constantly.
