Trove on the NLA site has old digitised newspapers. I'm trawling these for old stats but not finding many !

Finals are usually the only time you're likely to get any decent stats other than a mention in an article about a player having X amount of kicks.

Probably a dead end, but I've just noticed I missed RD1 of 1966. It appears to be a different source than the remainder of the season, and is missing the hit outs.

Hit outs:
Have alternate source of basic stats, so no data

Went onto one of the players pages, was stumped by the added information and then, it clicked that it was a suggestion of mine.

Guernsey numbers on team pages, behinds totals and, now, average score for and against, all 3 my suggestions.

Your website's getting that much better.
Great team effort guys.

I want to make it a quadrella.

As well as the avg points for and points against, what about avg winning margin and losing margin?

Edit: Just noticed it at the end of the new section of each players' avg scores F and A.
Discredit this suggestion.

Ever since coming across it in 2007, I've loved it.

As always, the more information, the better.

Comprehensive quality.

Ta, but as I usually point out, lots of work by a number of other people too.

Ideas come into my head all the time, but I never get around shoehorn them in.. but when someone requests something, it's a little bit more of an incentive.

Heh, weird. Probably means gaps in everyone else's as well. Will look into it.

Turns out there was a phantom null player in 1968, could only have been someone breaking to the house, opening the relevant file and typing a bunch of zeroes in there.

Paul & co,
Love you're work one question though not sure if it has been asked ....
Score progressions will you guys go further back than 2008?
I really love that section.
I would love to help in any way if you need any.
PM me :)

*Paul*.

Couple of suggestions.

For each player stats page, where you've got the average score F/A, if they've played for multiple teams, what about including their average score for both teams?

Under each round of each year, what about the average score of each round?
Round's 1 and 3 of 2000 were massive and whatever round North Melbourne beat Collingwood in 1987 with a score pairing of 72-18 would've been one of the lowest scoring rounds of the '80's?

Further to that, what about the total goals and behinds next to the average?

The first one might encroach into the too much information area, the 2nd one I like.

Here's a question - I'm working on a page about average ages on a club basis. Which, if either, makes more sense (bearing in mind I only keep details of players who actually play a senior game): The average calculated by using each player's age when they played their last game, or at some arbitrary point during the year, say 1st Jan or something else?

As for umpires, a reader (Ron D.,whose research appears to be quite thorough) offered them up out of the blue, so unless someone else does the same, field umpires it will stay.

R.e. the dates, what about something simple?

The most games and goals kicked by a player born on a particular day and a top 10 most games and goals by players to have debuted in a particular year as well as most games and goals by players born in a particular year?

Would it be possible to add a 'big list' of premiership players? Including columns for number of premierships, club, and maybe years won?
