If he was that good he would have had many suitors looking at him yeah ? He explored his options and no one wanted him unless it was a salary dump deal which you didn’t do because Daniher had retired. We could have picked him up but we didn’t bother.

That’s where his career is at

In the end it was a blessing in disguise for us. Kept our pick which we got a good player with and then got Jack Graham for free who’s an equal player. Both not very good but one was free and the other wasn’t so a win for us . Not a single Eagles fan isn’t happy we dodged this bullet.

Graham is rather glacial.

He’s not. He’s always been asked to play a lock down defensive role, because the coaches don’t trust him playing a bigger role.

But it’s not a natural role for him, which is why he’s been surpassed by Ah Chee and Lohmann.

He doesn't apply enough defensive pressure, he isn't clean enough with his ball use and isn't enough of an offensive goalscoring threat which are things all good front half smalls do.
He's a midfielder shoved in the forward line and he's awful at it.
If that's the role he tries to play long term he will be off an afl list as soon as 2026.

Fringe players at a good team do not equal good players at a poor team, many many examples of that from Geelong over the years so fair enough if the Eagles have no interest in Robertson. Using list spots being tight is comedy gold though. Eagles have about a dozen AFL standard players, how the hell can they have a list squeeze.

Not so much in 2025 no they dont.

They have a gap in the 24 to 28 area. Which they have been slowly addressing.

In 2026 it starts getting harder as the choices will become between letting go a decent player to keep a kid on who is looking promising but hasnt delivered.

Eagles also are well stocked with tall forwards and medium / small forwards. That portion of rhe list has its quota to the extent that several young forwards may need to be developed as defenders.

Defense and midfield needs investment.

I don't think he leaves anytime soon, but if he were to leave, Dev is still nowhere near top 15 imo. Probably not even best 22/3

We would have 3 players better then Dev instead of the 1 we have with Harley around. In any case Dev knows he has no chance at Eagles. It’s why he was pushing to get to Collingwood and not us
