Getting some form of protein in you post workout before you go to bed would be a good idea for MPS

There's actually quite a bit of research suggesting that pre-bed protein is a very good thing for muscle growth.
Chris Beardsley has posted a few infographs on his Instagram as well.

I would normally eat indiscriminately. But I've reviewed it in the past few weeks, and I've been noting the the amount of carbs and protein I eat and where they're from. Since then, I'd been looking for other sources of protein, most of which usually came from fish.

I don't want to write an essay. But I'll say this. I was never much of a egg eater, and I just cannot believe the effect eating them has had on my diet since then. I've just learnt first hand what a super food those thing are. They're incredible.

What have you noticed?

Fwiw, according to one of our textbooks eggs are the only food that contains the optimal mixture of essential AA's and are subsequently the only food source that receives a perfect 100 in the rating of 'protein quality'.

And it amazes me so many throw the yolk away because of the "fat and cholesterol" Crazy stupid.

Easy between meal snack.
I've been boiling eggs and taking them to work, only have to spend a few minutes a couple of mornings per week and I have a ready protein source whenever I'm hungry at work.

OFF track a bit but whatevs

Has anyone heard of antibiotics in our foods (anything with eyes that's farmed) causing our stomach bacteria to die off once consumed (good and bad bacteria) which leads to all sorts of health problems?

Have had really bad digestion for 2 years, ie diarrhea, constipation, fissures, hemmies, muscular hypertrophy of the sigmoid etc which leads to lack of sleep, thyroid issues, CNS being overworked and always being tired etc and been to colon professors/Docs etc with no relief or help or anything but IBS blah blah blah watch what you eat etc. I was at the end of trying stuff and at the time my diet was amazing, walnuts, eggs, brocolli, sweet potato, whole grain bread, fruits everday only chicken meat and it was still getting worse 4 months later!!

Anyway, went to a natropath, he gave me a bowel cleanser that he makes himself and its meant to gently scrub your insides (over a 8 week period) and get rid of a film like layer on your entire colon, its generally a black/brown coating (can be anything small from glad wrap thickness to cardboard thickness) and its stopping certain bacterias from being active and also stopping what nutrients your body can absorb. He said its almost purely due to the antibiotics in everday food slowly killing off bacterias in your guts that you need to digest food. Also if you have had antibiotics for any surgeries or hospitalizations etc.

He also prescribed a human probiotic supplement that only he makes aswell (can only get it from breast milk pretty much), which is a point of difference as all the pro biotics you see in the shops, are from animals, due to human probiotics being illegal in Australia currently (for reasons im not sure, I mean if you ask me it should be legal for sure).

So yeh It has helped me more than I could imagine, at the time it was a last ditch attempt to get some relief really, and it worked big time. If anyone else had had similar digestion issues I would recommend trying this 100%. PM me for any details no probs.

As I stated in my earlier post. I'd eat indiscriminately, but would jot down the amount of carbs/protein I'd eat. From a month ago, I observed that I ate 600-650 grams of carbs a day. Dare I say, 500+ was normal for many years.

But I've found since that I can wean off that amount just by observing the totals, and not forcing myself to do it. So for the past week I'd eat about an average of 100g, and haven't felt stressed doing so. There are times where I look at the list, after feeling hungry, and seen that I've ate a lot of carbs but a lower amount of protein. So I then choose to eat a source of protein like fish or chicken. Whereas previously, I would've are some that may've had heaps of protein, but was carbo loaded (Like a burger).

It's been interesting for me to note how my body reacts. There are times where I've ate a high source of protein with no carbs, but my stomach still grumbles. So I eat a higher source of carbs, and my stomach is satisfied. The difference between now and a month ago, is that I'm not eating 40+ serves of carbs, and 10-20 will do for the next few hours. It's been good to be in control of the situation :thumbsu:
