So im new to betting and have become a fan especially of Multi bets. Also like the idea of mixing codes in my multis, maybe 2 from each code your pretty confident about has a better chance of a result than trying to pick 4 or 5 from the same code. Thought mite be a good idea to discuss, with feedback and tips. For this week i was thinking something like this:

Adelaide under 40 points over Brisbane
Freo under 40 over sydney
Collingwood over Essendon
Central coast over Adelaide
Newcastle and Heart DRAW
Everton over blackburn.

For $15 would net $1813

Thoughts and feedback? Any help/ideas would be appreciated :)

Im having a little go on the tennis tonight and have got this so far:

Federer 2-0 (Sets)
Djokovic 2-0
Verdasco 2-0
Soderling h2h
Querrey h2h
Wawrinka h2h

I also want to throw in Ferrer h2h but havent seen him play over the last couple months. I would have him as favourite over Nalbandian but im no expert

Ended up taking it with Ferrer h2h.

Federer 2-0 (Sets)
Djokovic 2-0
Verdasco 2-0
Soderling h2h
Querrey h2h
Wawrinka h2h
Ferrer h2h
(Carling Cup) Chester Vs Middles - total Under 4.5 goals

$5 @ 16.21

Then took a "safe" multi of

Federer 2-0
Djokovic h2h
Verdasco h2h
Querrey h2h
(Carling Cup) Chester Vs Middles - total Under 4.5 goals

$10 @ 2.04

Fingers crossed i get the latter one up atleast

I've had a gut full of the bloody things. Betting agencies must love them. Lost count of how many of them i've lost on the last leg including the Doggies by 15.5 over the Crows on the weekend.

Back to the thread title - lots of ''discussing'' done so far....

Something I'd like to bring up, and I've got no idea what the answer may be, but why is it industry standard to offer multi-bonuses to 4+ successful leg bets? Not "get a double, we'll give you a bonus", ''jag a treble, we'll top you up'', ''get lucky with an 8-leg multi, we'll double the odds'' etc. - as a rule, successful four-leg multi's get rewarded.

Why four?

I ran some numbers 6-ish months ago on betting patterns of multi punters, using 18 months worth of data / 250k+ bets, from 2-leg to 20-leg multi's. The P&L of all doubles bets was +ive, the P&L of all trebles was +ive, punters starting losing at four legs or more.

So, why four?

Ive got a few on for the friendlies tonight.. all a little bit risky.. but one of them is:
South Korea Over Nigeria at Half Time
Thailand V Singapore: Highest score in the first half
Finland V Belgium DRAW
= $26.40

I put $5 on for return of $130

Got the first 2 right so fingers crossed for the draw :thumbsu:

As i said im pretty new to betting so not entirely following... are you saying if you get a 4 leg multi correct, betting agencies offer a bonus but for nothing else?

If you get to the last leg of a large multi you should at least be hedging your bets and coming out on top regardless.

Because punters start losing money on multi bets once they start hitting 4 or more legs is the reason to encourage more punters to make such bets and hence make the betting agencies more money.

The 10% bonus on payout is outweighed by the larger volume of bets lost.

Put my first multi on yesterday.

AFL - Adelaide over 15.5 points.
AFL - Geelong under 39.5 points.
Cricket ODI - Sri Lanka most sixes vs New Zealand in Game 2.
Rugby League - Melbourne Storm Hd2Hd
AFL - Richmond Under 39.5 points.

Hoping Richmond arent going to screw me here. :p

Just put a spare $5 on and am looking at a return of $388.85 :thumbsu:

Chelsea to draw with WBA! Well, if you win this bet, you've certainly earned it - with a leg like that!

Yeah we haven't been playing good at all in the recent pre season matches and like wise in the community shield; plus Carvalho just left us which makes us weaker in defence with JT and Cole being in poor form.
