Nonsense posts.

Do any of you really think the players were out there not trying?

It is heartbreaking to lose finals, and shyte to lose two games by such massive margins - maybe that is the current gap between the top two teams when they are on song and the rest.

We are far from mediocre and not near the elite but we are a young team building towards a flag - these floggings will make those premiership celebrations all the more sweeter.

We need to be honest in our assessments & realistic to a player that it is a premiership we are after & we can see one coming in the next few years.

Keep the faith, maintain the rage & go you mighty North Melbourne Kangaroos.

Time to trade. We have a midfield that can only run at 1 pace. While some have the skills to go hard at the ball others haven't. We need pace and skill.......trade Swallow ,Sansbury, Green , Brown, Sinclair. Look for a pacy midfield player and put Campbell in the midfield.

You are thinking we are concerned by the margin we lost by. At least for me, thats not the case. Its the way we played. We were incredibly flat. Did someone forget to mention this was a spot for a Grand Final!? I can handle losing, particularly to very strong teams such as Geelong and Port Adelaide, (who really have been the two standout teams this year) but to play that soft, unaccountable brand of football was just appalling to watch. How many of our tackles stuck? Forget that - how many tackles did we attempt to lay!? Soft football from us is just painful to watch.:(

Agreed!! I know hindsight is a perfect science, but walking out through the tunnel on to the ground, i saw no fire in the eyes, just the faces of nervous school kids....

well said and couldn't agree more.

I am frustrated as much as the next bloke but something is really missing when the 3 of the last 4 finals appearance have been more than embarrasing. I can handle getting beat but I can't handle been non competitive. Today as was the case 2 weeks ago we didn't fire a shot. We were so well beaten in the middle and our forward line was appalling.

The bottom line is, something is missing somewhere we we can turn up to a final and get smashed like we do. Inexperienced can be a factor but it can't be the only one. We are fast becoming a finals easybeat. More importantly our farewell games to champion players are turning into a nightmare for them.

I think we need a touch more class. Look at Port with the Burgoynes, when they got it you knew we were in strife.
Wells, Smith, McIntosh have got it, but all struggled today. We need 2 or 3 more of that ilk.

Yes but,as was pointed out by Walls, we were the least experienced team in the finals. We played 9 players today who have less than 50 games experience. Some, such as Hamish,Gibson, Swallow and Edwards were expected to be world beaters against players who won a GF 3 years ago.

harvey and wells are PEA HEARTED BLUDGERS that should be traded not dropped.

Harsh on Harvey, has had a great year which I know means little for today.

What we have to expect is that Wells is an outside player at the very most. He is not an in and under. If the ball is not out in front he has no influence. Thats the reality of Wells. He needs more strings to the bow, and I fear this may never happen.

yes everyone tried. that's as far as their mental mindset was to go further to the grand final. it wasn't. it's as if we came far enough. well if you believe in the shinboner spirit we don't get smashed. we were. things need to change. there is a massive mindset that needs to be changed amongst the players.

I feel your pain Cold Shot.

But I reckon the boys played their hearts out this years and we spent all our tickets in the Home & Away season. We played our Grand Final against Hawthorn last week it was a massive emotional effort to win after being thumped by Geelong in the first week of the finals.

We're a couple of A graders away from being a competitive finals unit don't forget today we had 9 guys with 50 games or less playing today. I reckon we'll be better equipped to win finals games when these guys have around 90 games under their belts.

The glass is half full:)

not talking about in and under just be accountable thats all. as for harvey he should be kissing harris on the backside for every kick he has had this year look through the stats unless Harris,Swallow, simpson are on top he is nowhere, in fact he cost us goals by he's shear lac of accountability, we need players that will play a honest hard game and don't believe their own hype.

Whether it was the Hawks or the Kangas, Port would have belted them both. There is quite a gap between the Top mature sides and the Up and commers. The margin would have been painful but end result was always going to be the same. I was surprised Pies didn't get pumped by 50+ lastnight, but I think that was due to the Cats having a nervous breakdown at various stages of the game.

In defence of Harry, Harvey has struggled generally in the three finals (aside from the second half v Hawks) and only had just over 30 touches in total, IIRC.
And his finals record is way below his career record, averages about 14 touches and less than a goal.
It's definitely a concern.

Wash your mouth out Newbie.

Harvey had the shit beaten out of him by Hawthorn in the first half last week and came back with 4 second half goals.

Think before you post PEA BRAIN:thumbsdown:

3 when it was all over. harris went at it all night. did i say pea heart sorry i mean NO HEART AT ALL

What a fantastic analogy. We won last week. However lost to a side scraping into the eight. We were crap. You cannot lose by the margin
s we did and not do anything about it

Port Adelaide finished the Home & Away season in 2nd place. We finished 3rd with a massive jump of 11 places on the ladder in 1 season. We were terrible today and like the Geelong game we hardly had a winner on the park which was a touch embarrassing.

However, as a North supporter you should be proud of your teams overall efforts throughout the year especially with Thommo going down early in the season and our recovery after being 0-3 not to mention all the talk of sacking the coach and re-location.

I'm sure the players will learn from the experiences of this years finals and improve with hard work and more games under their belts.

personally i think we are still 3 years off, and we had 10 players who had played less the 40 games, i am so proud of our boys and their season, regardless of wat happnd 2day

All the class in the world is not going to make up for a team that turns up and doesn't want to play. Our mindset was not right in this game. Port are a very good side but not that good. We just didn't want to compete. We were soft. I don't think it can be said any other way.

I'm bitterly disappointed in Simspon, Sinclair, Grant, Harvey and Wells (and don't give me that BS that Wells is 'still young'. He's been at the club long enough to be considered senior FFS).

Will you be the first to send a post congratulating Boomer when he wins the Brownlow Monday night? I am not going to name them but i do think two of the players you have listed will need to have good seasons in 08 or they are gone.
