How good were the two bookends today - Sheers and Porter. Sheeba would have taken 15 marks and Ports kicking 5.
Thought BOG could have gone to either one of them or Hinton. Not that Gooley was not a bad choice and he was consistent contributor all day.
One thing thought the YVMDFL did a great job with the big screen and music etc, but is Healesville the right ground for a GF. Yes plenty of room and parking but for the players it is just so big.

have to agree. the league do a great job in my opinion putting on the event but they really drop the ball when it comes to venue allocation. gembrook has its obvious faults and healesville has an appalling lack of atmosphere. i stood in a couple of different spots yesterday on either side of the ground and it was the same wierd silence in both. dont know what it is about the joint but it is simply not a great venue for atmosphere.

Great effort by the Brookers yesterday and well done on a wonderful season.
Surely the hierarchy needs to reconsider the appointment of Marsham as non playing coach. Monkey last year and Porter this year proved the benefit of having the leader in the thick of the action on the big day. Keep him as chairman of selectors or as the bench coach but use his coin to appoint a playing coach.
Congrats to Creeper O’Neil on a wonderful career. Fantastic player, hard at it and great coach – playing coach of the 2004 premiership side and before him Mark Butler playing coach of the 200 premiership side. Both extremely influential on the big day when it counted.
And at least 1 possibly 2 ex Emerald boys are heading back to Chandler Reserve next year.

Emerald or gembrook jumping ship now that both are in division 1

Have the same mail garion. Def playing games on website. From someone at Upwey the fourth out is Blair Sheppard. If that is right then dropping Harris, Orger and Shep who have all played 15 plus games for the year for 2 blokes who have been out 5 weeks, 1 that has been out 3 and Porter who has been out 7?

Ports will either be a genius or have to front an angry mob...

Gembrook are unchanged.

Ports clearly a genius!! The brookers clearly outplayed by upwey. Porter standing up in last quarter when game needed to be won. Sheers brilliant in defense and Davis on fire all over the ground. All risky selections paid off.

The gembrook boys battled it out. 2 points down 3/4 time and kicking into a 3 goal breeze. Had a chance to go 10 points up at about 10 min mark but poor kicking for goal before porter stepped it up. Battled hard but the road to gf of the last 5 weeks V mon, oli, woori, mon and then upwey had taken the toll. The boys looked tired after the 6 day break and although never gave up clearly had nothing left in the tank.

Club very proud of back to back gf's but clearly need to ensure next year is the one!!!! Well done to ALL involved. A great year and plenty of spirit shown.

Congrats to upwey on a VERY successful year. Somewhere we hope we can all get to. A great club.
