Dales had our chances to win against Waverley Blues

They play their ground really well and nailed their goals when it mattered unfortunately for us

Well this division was perfectly predictable on percentage with a top 5 and bottom 5.

Templestowe and Mulgrave have now switched spots so who knows what to think!
Except that Mulgrave is sitting above Templestowe, but with a lower percentage. Important game R9.

Some interesting games coming up.
Round 8.
Mulgrave v Ringwood
Croydon v Waverley Blues

Round 9
Ringwood v Boronia
Templestowe v Mulgrave

Templestowe is no certainty next week. Lilydale has been competitive in all their losses excluding round 1. The Rams would need to be playing good footy to also get over Lilydale in Round 9.

There are no easy wins in Div 2. Heathmont turned up at Ram Stadium and played great. Tough and physical and with a few players back they are a better team than where they are on the ladder.

The win for Heathmont spells big trouble for The Basin, who are now two games adrift. It shows Heathmont have a decent performance in them while The Basin haven’t shown that at any stage. Sacked their coach at 0-4 (after losses to Croydon and three of last years finalists), are now at 0-8 and have had no bounce or improvement. You’re probably getting around $1.50 for them to be relegated right now.

Getting sacked is really shit, but a month later reckon he might be feeling a little vindicated and probably happy to be out of there.

Bunk Moreland who is coaching The Basin now?

A big shout out to the Dale's players, supporters, and committee in the EB rooms after the game. Everyone had a feed and a few beverages. All the best for the rest of the season.

Comprehensively smashed us in the game, too big and ferocious tackling all day

Shocking conditions all day

Chiko roll was luke warm

It was a freezing day, the rain came in the first qtr which made the 2nd quarter a slog with no goals scored. The physicality that went missing last week against Heathmont was back. Sorry about your Chiko Roll, I hope you tucked into the food after the game, there was plenty.

Word around the traps is The Basin are going all out on mid-season recruiting to attempt to save themselves.

Recalling retired players, bringing in new players, offering others big money.

Feels a bit late in the day… but I guess they are only on the bottom by two games.
Are they there for the club or the money? You have guys playing their guts out and then gets dropped for a new player. It just gets ugly.

The club is not ‘shelling’ out big money for any players. What has happened is some changes to their football operations by having 2 fellows involved who have been invested in the club for a long time. They have done a significant amount of work in a short time to get some players to return to play for the club. A long way to go in regards to getting off the bottom but I think they may be able to win a couple of games and avoid relegation. They have a significant advantage at home and you wouldn’t know they were winless when watching them play Waverley Blues the other week. Their first half was very impressive.

Same fellows who sacked the coach after 3 games? Not sure it’s proven to be a great decision

Their recruitment strategy was mind boggling to start off with.
Doubling down is strange to say the least.

If Croydon's attitude doesn't change quickly, The Basin should notch up their first win next week.

Croydon have regained their motivation and desire the past three games. At least two more wins from last four games should guarantee second place.
