Geelong are masters at drawing free kicks. Nothing against them and they're doing nothing wrong, but it can sometimes be annoying.

I wouldn't be surprised if Geelong trained for frees.

Many of their players seem to have really effective and consistent techniques for accentuating both real and perceived illegal contact.

Joel Selwood is their best free-inducer.

His surreptitious leg compressions at the onset of opposition contact render him more high tackle frees than anyone else going around, imo.

I'm watching the game now on 7 and am dead set disgusted ... (and I really don't care for the Doggies either TBH) but fair go, the Corio pets are getting all the calls, esp in front of goal.

This is the biggest cruxifiction since Roman times ...

Methinks this is something of a rhetorical question... kinda like - does Ross Oakley sleep in a coffin? ;)

Give me surreptitious leg compressions or give me death!

Now there's a quality quip, and THEN some! :D

Watching it on TV now (please no SPOILERS everyone) on delayed telecast, the Dogs would be in front if it wasn't for the umpires, make no mistake.

I love this sort of stuff.

Geelong not kicking these goals does not make it the same game minus the goals you do not like. The whole game will have changed and you can not say who would be winning or not.

Who is to say that is one of those goals had not been kicked that Geelong would have gone on to kick the next 7 goals strait.

The Akermanis hold against Ablett for a 50 metre penalty was an utter joke. This is not the NBA.

It was quite telling to hear the commentators umm and ahh over that one...

Who is to say that if Geelong wasnt gifted goals the Bulldogs might have kicked the next 10 straight.

Reminds me of a certain country.

Great vdeo. Is that an ad for something?

And I always think of that watching Geelong. I certainly don't begrudge them their success, because they're easily the most skillful side, but, like most of the best soccer teams, they're also a bunch of thespians.

I hear they got Russell Crowe in to give them a few pointers over the pre-season. Anyone know if there's any truth to this?
