Go the races, or the Museum, the Art Gallery ... then again go to the footy, enjoy the game & accept the ambience is sub standard. As long as its a good game.

Where is the bikky barrel these days in Perth, you might get priority membership .. find a lion park, grab your Malvern Star, its free for Poms ...
The thing is, I'd happily indulge in culture. I truly enjoy Art Galleries and Museums. It's just that Perth is a barren, wasteland of culture.

I should be able to go to a Museum on Friday and enjoy myself. Then go to the footy on Saturday and love it. Although it's always great fun watching the footy (I enjoy going to games as a neutral a huge amount), I'd like to do it in a stadium I can be proud of.

Sport is a huge part of Australian culture. This state deserves a modern stadium. Every other state is able to upgrade their facilities, look at Adelaide, and Perth is left in the doldrums. I reserve the right to complain. Do you want to spend the rest of your footy supporting days sitting at Subi?

I hate it because I pay lots of money for an AFL membership and everytime Carlton plays there I have to sit up in the heavens. Absolute joke.

Probably with a better view than MCG though.

Great place and has improved a great deal from the beginnings in regards to playing surface

You cant have everything from my experience.
As a Scarboro boy, a swim is what I crave when visiting Perth. Fair haul to Bells from my humble abode.
You need to up your experience of things material, it hasnt
impressed me.

Sit back & enjoy 2012 mate, your mob are up & about, I'm a fan of Sandi plus the boy Crowley, learned all he knows at Subi ...

You'll get the upgraded stadium, just make sure WA footy is not the loser.

It's the same with AAMI Stadium memberships - cheaper than Crows Memberships and more benefits.

I see a strength of the WA model as NO FREELOADERS ... to go the footy you join a footy club, not a footy league or a cricket club ... or buy a Medallion Club ticket to the GF.

I understand FREELOADERS justifying their position, no different to any elite over centuries .. why dont footy club members call it as it is, elitism. Why should your footy club play 2nd fiddle to these elites?

Dont expect the media to call it, they are seduced by a coffee & biscuit, even a Devonshire Tea, & a free beer after the game.

Given that AAMI Stadium members are counted in Adelaide/Port Adelaide's Membership figures, are not considered SANFL members, and a fair chunk of the membership fees go towards the club (including 100% of reserved seat fees - should you elect to reserve a seat), I'd hardly call it freeloading.

Never missed out on a level 1 seat at all our home games there last year. You need to buy at the right time, and im not talking about the monthly pre-sales.

Given that AAMI Stadium members are counted in Adelaide/Port Adelaide's Membership figures ... so what, member numbers are a PI55ing competition, talk about the $s !!

a fair chunk of the membership fees go towards the club ... Are Adelaide missing out on $millions that go the SANFL, & all the time Adelaide are on struggle street compared to the Eagles.

Why do these Crows followers reject their footy club in favour of the SANFL?

1. You're the one that raised the freeloader comment, I was commenting that these memberships count towards Adelaide/Port Adelaide membership figures. Bang goes your first comment.

2. Adelaide has only posted losses in the past 2 seasons, which has almost purely based on the investment they've made in the Westpac Centre. Also, this year was the last year they had a payment for the northern stand so Adelaide's finances are not in a major problem - certainly when compared to Port Adelaide, and they are not on struggle street, as you fraudulently claim. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it is only the base fee that the SANFL takes it's small cut from. Reserved seating money in the AAMI Stadium members section goes 100% to the respective clubs, and any higher level of memberships (such as Gold/Captains Club for Adelaide and the equivalent for Port) is actually done directly with the respective clubs. Bang goes your second comment.

3. AAMI Stadium Members are not rejecting the Adelaide/Port Adelaide Football Club - as I said in my previous post, in terms of members stats, they're considered Adelaide/Port Adelaide Football Club members (they even get the same member benefits as the respective club members, right down to the membership bumper sticker), and are not considered SANFL members. It is an alternative form of membership that still contributes to the club yet at the same time also makes a small contribution to grassroots football. Bang goes your last comment, and I don't really understand your hatred towards this form of membership

It is very different set up, to say, Medallion Club membership.

Bang bang, but WHY did you duck the subject?

Who counts as a member is as useless as ... on a bull, where does the money go?
Who do you pay?

Rejecting your club means you dont take any of the offers available from them, you go elsewhere.
Duck, weave, give Murali a run or Warney, you dont join your club!!!

The SANFL model is flawed.

The money from the base membership fee largely (I understand it's 80%+ goes to the Adelaide/Port Adelaide Football Club. 100% of reserved seating fees goes to the respective clubs. Higher levels of membership not only go 100% to the club, but are deal with directly by the respective football clubs. AAMI Stadium members are members of the Adelaide and Port Adelaide Football Club. What part of that don't you understand

Also you bang on about AAMI Stadium members not being members of their club yet when I repeatedly comment that they are considered Adelaide/Port Adelaide members both in the eyes of the SANFL and of the respective clubs you comment that it's irrelevant.

Just because it's an answer you don't want to hear doesn't mean I'm ducking the subject.

What are they actually building out the front of the stadium? Have been to Melbourne a few times in the past couple of months and have noticed the construction blocking the view of the stadium from southern cross.

They are building office developments on both sides of the walkway connecting Southern Cross Station, NAB will take up the northern side and a yet to be named corporation has committed to the southern side. The will be new eateries and bars going in on the concourse level. There has also been talk of building a new walkway over the train tracks as an extension of Lonsdale St, connecting the stadium concourse with the Spencer Street shopping complex.

So 80%+ - is does the 80% member get an 80% vote or do they get a 100% vote.

Being considered a member isnt the point - how much money does this arrangement cost each club? Year in, year out !!

Maybe the Adelaide clubs could field an 80%+ team next time they play one of the WA clubs, then you would understand.

Like Adelaide Football Club silver members, they get no voting rights (to either the SANFL or the Adelaide Football Club), so that point is irrelevant.

In terms of how much it's costing the clubs, and (trying to keep this thread somewhat on track), certainly nowhere near it would be costing say, Etihad Stadium tenants with the Medallion Club, Axcess One etc. Also, in recent years the AAMI Stadium membership enclosure has been reduced, providing more opportunity for people to have direct memberships with either club, should they choose to do so. This has enabled Adelaide to completely clear it's waiting list.

So, to go back to your original point, they are certainly not freeloaders, and more than enough evidence has been provided to show that. If you choose not to accept that, then that's your decision, but your misguided views have been well and truly debunked.

You legendary debunker you .... get a grip on yourself boy!

Someone who doesnt join his club, back doors them taking a 20% discount is free loading in my world.

Now Brucey, you clearly have access to what it is costing the Adelaide clubs, come clean.

& yes, I regard footy fans who give the sars to their club & join the cricket club, the AFL members club or the Medallion club as free loaders just like SANFL types who have rejected what the Adelaide/Port Footy Clubs offer.

Now you master of comprehension of the English language, what does it cost Adelaide Footy Club when these free loaders join the SANFL not their club.

The SA model is flawed ...

To quote RussellEbertHandball from the Port Board

"In SA at Footy Park the SANFL charges

old Cat 1 / Ultimate $455 - both clubs get $138 in 2012 ie AFL set Adult 11 Club membership ( season ticket). The AFL pays this amount to a club for AFL member ticket, when that member ticks a club in the club support section. If no box ticked the AFL pockets $138.

old Cat 2 / Essential Crows - $335 and the crows get $138 of that

old Cat 3 / Essential Power - $335 and port get $138 of that.

There are different bays available to be reserved in the members stand for both teams games.

For all 22 games
A Reserve $225
B Reserve $215

For 11 crows or 11 port games
A Reserve $135
B Reserve $115

So an essential crows or power membership + a reserved seat in A reserve = $335+$115 = $450. Not as expensive as Freo, but if a WA style rent of $70 per seat was charged that's a net return of $380.

See all Footy Park members info at the following linked brochure

http://www.aamistadium.com.au/artman...Brochure_1.pdf"

end quote.

The SANFL are screwing the AFL clubs and the fact that these SANFL members actually contribute less to their chosen club than a base season ticket holder does defies belief that they get the premium seats at AAMI Stadium. Kwality does have a very good point and this is one of the reasons why the WA clubs fair better financially than the SA clubs.
