Im just curious if im the only West Coast supporter that feels empty right now. I was as high as a kite last night, knowing we have a home prelim in the bag. Then i come on BigFooty and everyone starts saying we didnt deserve to win, and Sydney were robbed and on and on and on and on.
I just feel so empty. We may as well of lost. Am i alone in feeling that way?

Mate ******** what the doubters think. THey were all saying we were going to lose last night and we ********ing won. Whoever we play in the prelim will probably go in favourites and if we win people will say we're undeserving but ******** them. We will finish where we deserve to finish.

At our best we are better than every side bar the Saints at their best.

feeling bad because ****************s on bigfooty are jealous and sad because the team they'vre been bagging all year has won a home prelim final is silly. don't listen to them, we had a great win and have set up a good assault on the flag. we had many umpiring desicions go against us as well, just because ours weren't in the dying minute it doesn't matter. people who blame the umpires are sore losers and the fact that we won means we deserved to win. FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT.

1. Who cares what others think?

2. Why have sympathy for team who floods and scrags? I don't usually like biased umpiring but I'll laugh to the bank everytime a team with such tactics gets the short straw.

3. The Eagles can't win the flag in their current form. They have to find another gear. Maybe this game will be the catalyst but that remains to be seen. Fletcher and Cox look very tired and the forwards are out of confidence.

Left the game with a grin from ear to ear. What over people feel I honestly dont give a rats. The facts are we won one of the tightest and fiercely competative finals matches in a few years. The Swans style of game meant the eagles could not play their typical Subi game that is exciting, fast and skillful, we had to play dour football because its what was required to match and eventually beat the swans.

Who will we play next fortnight?

You are OBSESSED with what other people think of the Eagles, completely pathetic how much you rely on opposition supporters to make you feel good about your own team. Here's the tip, YOU WILL NEVER BE HAPPY IF YOU RELY ON OPPOSITION SUPPORTERS TO PRAISE YOUR TEAM!!!

All bloody year mate, I don't know why you bother whinging about what other say so, so much.

You're joking right?

Empty, not at all

Just suprised about all the negative sentiment on the forums and some media about a game i thought would have been billed as a "Classic Final"

I don't like it how i have to defend my club for winning a game. The boys worked hard in the last qtr and that's why we won.

Mate take the win and move on.

Last week we had 5 frees given in front of goal in the 1st qu, we were due some luck. I can recall several moments in last night's game where we had bad luck, bad umpiring decisions and a bad bounce, it all evens up in the end. :thumbsu:

The last fortnight is categorical proof that umpiring fortune fluctuates from week to week.

Yes we got lucky at just about the best possible time...but do I give a rat's? Hell no - it's part and parcel of the modern game. Every team has days when it can't buy a free and when they get them handed on a platter. This was our day for the latter, and I couldn't be happier.

(As I heard someone say once..."if you let the game get so close that these things matter, well it's your own fault.")

((yes this does presume that umpires make mistakes regularly. They do. In all sports. Just like most every player does each week...))

dude who cares what people say? Your team/My team is in the semi's and the other people are just ********ed their teams didnt make it.

After tonight, could be anyones ball game, but am expecting another showdown at Subi - West Coast Vs. Adelaide in a fortnight.

Bask in the glory, Eagles in the PF, thats one win a way from a GF birth.

GF is a completely different ball game to H&A at MCG. Neutralish crowd, pressure, everything goes on the line.

IF we make it and IF we play the saints...we are as good a chance to win it as they are.

Oh how fun it is to be a major part of this years finals! I'd forgotten the feeling!(finishing 8th and being knocked out straight away doesnt make u feel part of the finals:p)

I have a slightly hollow feeling because everything did fall our way. Make no mistake we were extremely lucky to win last night. Not because of the umpiring but because of the way we played and how well Sydney played.

I feel empty that Saints won.

I'd much rather play an interstate team at the G on GF day than a Melb based one.

I would be worried too. Crows beat you at home, Saints beat the Crows at AAMI, you couldn't beat the Swans without help from the maggots,

When form and momentum is required heading into a finals campaign it doesn't auger well for your team. Think you peaked too soon.

Having said that it's not your team's fault the umpires didn't do their job and every team gets crucified now & then so take the win and make no apologies.

Hope you didn't just play your Grand Final.

Don Hird.

It never really evens up in the end does it? If West Coast are screwed by the umpires in front of goal in a fortnight's time and it costs them a win in the Preliminary Final, how many of the weagle's fans are going to say "It's all good because it all evened out in the end"? NONE!
You are using an expression that gets lip service because it was obvious that one side has been bent over and reamed by the umpires. I'm sure the Swans aren't thinking that, because the umpires screwed them in the last quarter at Subi, now the umpires will bend over and kiss thier butts next week in Sydney. It's fine to be happy the weagles won the match. It's fine to say the weagles deserved to win...they played hard at it all night. But don't start thinking they deserved the win any more than the Swans because the Swans played at least as hard and did get done in by the men in white (accentuated with black trim and very trendy black shorts) TWICE in the end!
