What does his accomplishments in 2004 have to do with him getting an extension for 2010?

What does Knights' results at Port have to do with his results at Essendon? Essendon played in the finals this year despite a massive injury list and the perception from the football world that they would be a bottom 4 team.

You are making yourself look like an idiot.

Yeah he does, has won a flag, was a more successful coach of your reserves than Knights, and didnt totally **** Port Adelaide Magpies

How bout you have a read about what your own supporters had to say about choco getting re-signed. It's taken straight from your own board:

And you want to take pot shots at Essendon for giving an extension to a young coach that has exceeded all expectations?

Why is a Port Adelaide fan laughing?

Oh and poor form to the Essendon "supporters" who flooded talk back on the way home abusing the crap out of Knights and the decision. Was embarrassing listening.

Good move from the Don's, he is a talented and improving coach. Making some tough calls on senior players and constructing a young and exciting squad. Very similar to Clarkson when he began at the Hawks, doing things his own way, like Clarkson recruiting Dew. Wasnt a popular decision at the time and payed dividends.

A couple of things haven't gone his way such as the really attacking game plan last year but he has learnt from his mistakes and took a young, injury depleted team into the finals (beating us twice on the way........which wont happen next year:mad:).

the real "tough calls" at essendon are on mcveigh, lovett, welsh and mcphee. they won't win a flag with those four on the list so why not trade for picks and cash in.

Perhaps went a little early with the call, but, it's giving consistency which could be an important asset with such a young list to work with.

As for the Port jibes...well, I think the playing list at Alberton might just be the problem...what's that...Centrals are winning flags and Port are nowhere near it still?

Another brainless Port w***er!!! No Money, No Supporters, Your best player has quit, a list full of B graders.....

To the OP....12 months ago, baseless predictions of Knights' inability were actually common amongst your unfortunate demographic, and they looked pretty stupid even then. But these days, after Knights has exceeded expectations and proved we are on track as an improving side, Stupid doesn't even begin to sum it up.

Makes perfect sense really, took the Dons to the finals when few thought they could.
Not to get too tribal, but the reasoning behind Ports decision to extend Williams career at Alberton is known only to a select few.
