How time flies.
Feels like only yesterday that our now beloved skip in DragoDelph walked through the doors of Dragon HQ as a fresh faced rookie. Yet another rook from the land of Purple (thanks serial_thrilla), Drago would of course be subjected to various, erm, hazings by the likes of Bonz. He not only survived this, well, he enjoyed it. It turns out Mr Delph is really quite delightfully perverted, meaning he fit right in from the get-go.
And yet, Drago is all at the same time an absolutely fine chap with a great reputation around the league already. And, of course, is our Dear Leader. And now, DragoDelph plays his 100th game this weekend!
DragoDelph joined the Dragons back in Season 33, who were then reigning premiers, and of course he was enticed with various promises that we'd win more premierships (we're working on it mate...). He had an extremely handy first season on the Qooty field, kicking 19 goals, 3 behinds and amassing 1357 DT. He perhaps had an even greater season off field though, as he went on and won the EKA, recognised by the league as a rookie poster that not only was extremely prolific, but brimming with quality as well.
He's been a Dragon ever since... well, sort of, there was that stint he wasn't listed so he could run around the ammos and spend time with various clubs and rate them accordingly. I promised him I'd never reveal that behind the scenes he called the Bombers a "bunch of fat doofy mcdoof faces" and I intend to keep that promise (note to self, delete that last bit).
Anyway sabbatical aside, he's been in the Dragon colours for all official games at least and has, from even quite early on, been in our Leadership Group, showing just how highly rated he's been. From S38 he was even, er, rewarded with the captaincy after his predecessor
And so finally, here we are at the big one hundred. Here's to you DragoDelph, congrats on the tonne and we appreciate you!
