Fyfe cant kick, if hes not getting the ball at clearance hes a liability both defensively and ball in hand. The game has moved on from his style of play.

Brodie would be better, hate to say it but he can kick and can't be any worse defensively.

Fyfe has tonnes of credits in the bank for mine. Walters has pretty much used all of his up. Darcy looked so slow and one dimensional. Emmett must be dropped. Voss can come straight back in. Amiss had his worst game for the club, is having massive 2nd year blues but must be persisted with.
We were so fumbly as a team, but a lot of that was Collingwoods pressure.
I'm not sure who the best small forward is in the comp but that's who we should target this off season. Or Warner from Sydney. Or both.
Ryan is AA form again. Clark and Sharp have been fantastic.
We're honestly doing a lot right but our forward line in general is not giving us the reward for effort. It's by far our biggest problem.
Collingwood dominated us and should've won, but didn't. So sucked in. Take the 2 points and hope for some results to go our way.
 
Feel like we stole 2 points , they dominated us in the second half until the very end. They were kicking the ball off the ground a lot to break out of contests, worked very effectively at times. It seemed like they would crank up the pressure and our game plan would fall apart, turnover after turnover the result, goals goal goal for them.

The good.
Sharp - Good game, unlucky not to get the winner
Banfield -Save us Bailey!!!
Moose - What a goal!
Chappy - great mark in the last but other good things as well
Clark - good things happen when he is running with the ball

Net positive or negative I dont know.
MJ - good things but so many bad things
Darcy & Jackson - the combo has so little impact around the ground , has it ever worked better than just Jackson?

The bad.
Jye - What has happened to this guy
Walters - Surely we have someone that can play his position that will offer more?
Fyfe - If he isn't winning contest and clearances he isn't giving us anything
Emmett - this guy is a lead balloon
Umpires way to much influence over the game, calling stupid stuff that swung momentum and ignoring actual free kicks throws, arm chops and holding.

It took some Banfield brilliance, dodgy free kick (it is dodgy, let’s not kid ourselves here, that sort of shit never gets paid), some Wagner dash and Moose up forward to pinch that draw. We should have beaten them easily on paper.

I’ll take the draw but the ongoing issues aren’t going away.

Emmett, Walters and Draper should be dropped but I’m not holding my breath
 
My god, the whinging on Fox about the free kick paid to Darcy was nauseating. Apparently they also have "a lot of young players" and beat us at the contest with these blokes.

Last time I checked, we were younger than them and less experienced, even with their outs. They were also running their old guys like Crisp and Pendlebury through the guts.

Looking at the positives.
Cream rises to the top. Darcy first game back, struggled but gee he was huge in that last 5 minutes.
Chapman what a mark and effort to then play on. We saw it against Adelaide a season or two ago. He genuinely feels the occasion and wants to impose himself.

Young , Treacy, Banfield, Switta, Pearce, Ryan, Clark, Sharp, ceasing the moment and dragging the team forward.

I would like to know if the third quarter was a coach instruction to handball more or if the players just lapsed into that.

But super effort to see players lift and surge like that.
 
There were some passages of play that were brilliant from defence, in particular Chapman's handball intercept of Daicos. But so often we fell apart going forward. Emmett's stuffed bounce in the last was comical - he needs to go back to WAFL before anyone else.

Carrying Walters and an expected two to three stuff ups from Emmett weekly are costly.

Sharp is becoming a goal kicking winger. Great value to any side. He could have iced it for us, but he was huge.
