is there a thread somewhere where you guys are predicting the best 22 come round 1?

Spluff is right, there are threads everywhere where people have posted their best 22 but many are different in terms of players and positions.

Given we have the Thursday opener there is the advantage of knowing the official team 22 long before the lockout so I'd suggest simply waiting 'til then.

Hi everyones, I was on the Connors train a week back but now i'm not so sure. I see Farmer (who i have), Webberly and McMahon all playing well last weekend. If he has a bad game in round 1 is there a big chance he will get kicked out?

I'd say he'll hold his place for at least a few more games, if they're all horrible as well he could go back to Coburg (but the same goes for any player). At this point he looks to be in his spot by a fair margin.

Firstly, there is no way in hell McMahon played well given the reviews I heard last week and there is 0.1% he plays round 1. That is if all other options are injured.

Webberley is going okay but certainly not ahead of Connors shown by Connors chosen this weekend while Webberley was not.

Farmer will play back pocket and shouldn't be a major factor in Connors getting a game.

Your concern may be valid though since we have many back flankers who could put their hand up (newman, Dea, Webberley, Edwards, Moore), so the question is can you trust him to hold form.

Wait and see. That was possibly not helpful at all on reflection. Except for the fact you can be sure the last thing you have to worry about is Jordan McMahon.

No it was helpful enough thanks. See if he carves it up next week, Scully may be the safer option though.

Incoming Contin questions.

Surprised there hasn't been more considering he got 106. Shocked me I was at the game and would have said he may have got 60 so I assume a tackle count of 8+. Webberley scored less than it seemed in that game.

Contin seemed to just know how to find the pill however and I wouldn't be shocked at all if he forged himself a decent hopefully very very good AFL career.

Hi guys, just want to ask a few questions about Mitch Farmer. From what I can gauge from different threads on this board, he is likely to play round 1 out of a back pocket. Is he likely to hold his spot over a period of time of is he viewed more as a short term experiment? I know it is tough to predict with a new coach etc, but I love to know if you Tige's supporters would roll the dice on him. His mid/back eligibility makes him a a tempting option and @ $115k/$159k he looks like a decent investment. I hear his kicking is quite good so does this hold him in good stead? Sorry about all the questions  Thanks in advance for the reply.

Your guess is as good as ours. As you said we all believe that he should play from round 1 but its not exactly set in concrete at this stage. The best thing about us playing Thursday night is our team will be known well before lockout and then it will be up to people as to whether they take a gamble on Farmer or not.

FWIW, I currently have him in my line up alongside another cheap Tiger back as my 2 bench players as I believe that Farmer will be given every opportunity to make the small defenders position his the only thing is I wouldn't be holding out for him to score Grimes Broughton like scores, he'll be more like Pertrenko from last year good for 50-60 with the occassional 70 point game.

I expect him to hold his spot. but it must be said he is not a high possession winner and I'm not convinced he'll score that highly even for someone that cheap

Nason has firmed to be a likely starter for R1. Webberley might take a bit longer, but R4-6 should see him in the firsts, especially as we'll likely be getting spanked

Webberley looks further away than round 4 to me, I just swapped him for Nason in my DT. Still going to be interesting to see how many points Nason got in Freakos review on thursday.

RT Petrenko scored in the teens last year on many occasions lol. Farmer looks to me a 45+ player which is good for this years crop of backs I would say.

Nathan Foley was in my DT last year, before he got injured. Is he right to go again? I love him as a player and want to lock him into my midfield.

All clear?

Look elsewhere as Foley is still in rehab and wont be any good.

Still in the rehab group at this time and is a certainty to not play prior to R4. FWIW, his pre-season has been somewhat interrupted and is likely to see his numbers down this year because of it.

Good kick, quick 20m sprint won't be running out games strongly however. Scoring range would be 30-80 but at 77k in DT thats a bargain. For SC his scoring will be above that as is an exceptional disposer of the pill.

Roberts has been elevated. Love the $83k price but don't know much about him. Can anyone offer a brief overview? Strength, weaknesses. Thanks.

Very fast, one touch skills, beautiful disposal, excellent reader of the ball in the air or off a pack, but quite short, and very unfit (at this point, it would be a miracle to get more than 50% gametime).

are many of you going with connors or do you think there are better options

i have seen reports that he's effiency isnt very good so maybe he isnt much of a supercoach player unfortunetly

The only two SC players I would consider as locks for round 1 from Richmond are Deledio and Martin. Connors to me is a better DT option than SC but would still be umming and ahhing about him.
