Did a quick search on the bloke, and couldn't find anything terribly specific, so apologies if he's been raised before.

Talk on the North board has gotten the best of my curiosity, and I was wondering if and or where this bloke will be taken in the draft. There's a highlights package of him on youtube, and the bloke looks ridiculously skillful, quick, and a strong tackler - what North need to a T.

Problem is, he's 170cm. Just wondering what some of Bigfooty's elite think of the bloke, and whether or not he's a chance to be drafted, rookied, or will miss out all together. Would be a crying shame if he missed out on elite footy due to his height.

I don't think he is eligible this year, but feel free to prove me wrong. Actually heard a whisper he was told to look for a house in QLD then again the whole chinese whispers game does get a bit distorted.

How can being short even be considered an excuse anymore?? There's plenty of examples of the little guys making a big difference in the AFL..

I'm guessing he really doesn't have enough attributes that make him stand-out. If you're going to be < 180cm then you really need to be something special.

There is a gun in the AFL who goes by the name Brent Harvey.

Freak player.

Rated by some good pundits at Douttas as the best junior they have ever seen.

Dylan Joyce will dominate this season and will win games of footy for the cannons.

If he remains injury free AFL clubs will take note. Reminds me of a Brent Harvey type cuts it up through the middle and extremely damaging up forward.

He is very lightly framed which is a problem. He will get smased at AFL level. It has nothing to do with being short.
And i don't rate him as very highly skilled. You should not be judging players of highlight packages. I have seen a heap of him play and he has had plenty of games where he does a few freakish things mixed in with some ordinary grubber kicks or turnovers.
He reminds me as being a lighter version of Steven Milne and nothing at all like Harvey.

Well that sure as hell puts a dampener on it all.

Play at the same club with the kid,
his a year older than me , but can he play nice skills , sneaky player
To small to get drafted and has a VERY light frame, so as someone said before would get smashed by bigger body players.
A good VFL player but i dont see him making much of an impact at AFL level

Dylan is a sensational, highly skilled and has the footy smarts about him. One of the best players I have seen at TAC cup level. He can win a game for you.

I believe he has nominated for the draft. IMO I don't think he will get drafted but hopefully someone will rookie him. Yes there was talk of him going up north but he has also said he wil play VFL if not drafted.

I wish this kid all the best - he truly deserves it.

My Son played against Dylan Joyce in the Essendon District Football Leauge. Joyce orginally came from Greenvale before Doutta Stars recruited him. Joyce used to play with Adam Maric for Greenvale.Maric is by far a better footballer and Joyce will struggle in the AFL because of he's height

I can see how you might compare him to Milne, but Joyce does a heap more work up the ground and also a hell of a lot more run and carry through the middle. Milne's a goal sneak, Joyce when resting up forward becomes a sneak.

When Milne pushes up the ground, he's plays conservative, he's not the take em all on at all costs like Harvey. Hence the Joyce comparison with Harvey.

For me its 50/50 for him to get crack at it. He will not be rookied. He will either get picked up of forgotten about.
In so far as his height: He was listed at 174cm & 70kg's at the start of the year.

I had a look at the clip on the North board and based on your comments I'll have to assume that the kid fluked all those awards.

Joycey is an absolute freakshow, is LIGHTNING quick on his feet with unbelievable agility to boot! Extremely smart player who runs to the right areas more often then not, usually seems to be about 5 seconds ahead of anyone else on the ground, would be a shame for him not to get drafted... Height is obviously the only problem, reckon a few recruiters would be willing to take the risk though!
