It's funny how things work out, Essendon would expect a pick in the 20's for Gumbleton, a pick 4 who's barely gotten on the park in 6 years. On the other hand, Morton who was also a pick 4 and has shown nothing but his yellow belly on the field would be only a rookie option if delisted. I'd maybe rookie him if he was given the flick but if he didn't show anything in his 1st year I'd give him the flick immediately.

Gumbys gorn. Resigned with the Bummers

Transferring some old games onto DVD at the moment, watched Roberton's first game last night.

Rd 6 2010 Vs Weagles. Very cool under pressure good decision making and disposal - played back flank and wing. He will be a good player if he goes to a team where he can get a regular spot in defense or on a wing.

Watch his GC game from this year. He's being severely underrated in terms of his trade value IMO. With the exception of a touch more leg speed, he's got a lot of upside about his game and is still pretty young.

^^ Had a stretch in the middle of the year where he was consistently in or near our best half dozen on the ground.. def. has some trade value imo, could be one of those last minute deals done on Friday

His value would be pick 30 - 60 imo.
Noone will bother doing a deal for him though because they will try and get him for nothing or risk missing out on him, i doubt it would bother them too much either way.

He always provides great run and carry, what you call a 60m player, runs 10 then kicks 50.
Very handy for getting over the top of zones.
Trouble is he has never starred in games or been consistently getting 20+ disposals.
A few clubs would be interested in giving him a shot, but none would be thinking he is a must get.

Lyon loves his run and carry and sees that ability to get over the back of the zone in him.
Trouble is thats all he has going for him.
He wants out and if we get anything for him its a bonus.
Unless its a sub 40 pick, we prob wouldnt be using whatever we got for him anyway due to list size.

Roberton played mid plenty at Easts.

Yeah, but I don't think he could cut it at AFL level, not as true follower - he's played on the wing though and he's done alright.

Roberton has got a solid AFL career written all over him, not a star, but solid top 22 contributor and I'm convinced someone is going to pick-up a bargain in the PSD. Pity we can't get a trade out of this.

A deal of some sort will be done on the last day of trading for sure.Very few players who want to go home don't get traded back home.

Mundy wasn't a mid either at Robbo's age. If he gets picked up (which I have no doubt he will) he'll be a midfielder one day.

Yeah, you might be right. Interesting comparison, I don't reckon Robo moves in a crowd as well as Mundy was doing even in his early days, that's why I can't see him playing mid as a main roll. But on the other hand, in many respects they do compare at similar stages of their development. I can see where you're coming from.
