Eade sacked...sad sad day

Agree. He's been great for us and would have been at the very least good value for the next few years educating our young crop. If, as has been speculated, it is amicable and Eade is happy to pursue other options then that's not so bad. If we've blamed him for what's happened this year and sacked him to appease the masses then it's a disgrace.
Gutless wonders- scapegoating the coach. Hope the members have chance to say their bit.

Eade has said all along that his no.1 preference was to remain at the Bulldogs.

Why aren't they asking the players why they wont chase, tackle or put some ****ing effort in....
NB - that's not all players, just certain individuals....

I don't get why teams after being up then go down a bit sack the coach? Why not let him rebuild the team if he did a good job the first time?

Sorry to intrude (Hawks legend is Eade).....strange decision....but Eade seems to come with a use by date (was the same at Sydney). Is still a good coach and would be a great fit for Melbourne. Good luck with the new coach hunting.
Risky.. if Eade failed again the board would be criticised. At least bringing in a new guy they can say they tried to change something and just blame the coach again if it fails (ie. Bailey).

How long did Lake take to become AA FB ?? It was only a couple of games yeah...
Lake didnt shirk contests, he was willing to put his body on the line for the club. Continuing to select players who are completely undeserving of a game is a disgrace. Has always happened at the club, play favourites too much. WE need a coach who will not do that, and actually select the team based on form.
The worst part will be if we beat Port everyone will say it must have been Eade's fault that we weren't winning, the players weren't responding to him. But I hope the players take responsibility and admit they are just as much to blame if not more.

Back to the dark old days of having shit('but hard working players') and a below AFL standard coach.

Massive disission by the board, lets hope we dont do a port and appoint a club favourite without a proper process in place. Sanderson and Neald need to be given every opportunity to show what they can offer.
Personally i thought Rodney was the man to take us forward, more recources at the club would have greatly helped imo. This seems like a very scapegoat dissision by the people in charge. Take out three of any teams best players for most of the year and seem how most teams go. Probably not to great.
We have blooded the second most Kids this year and still almost made finals. Rocket was doinga good job witht he kids imo, unfortunatly having almost no decent 24-25 year olds has really hurt his coaching tenure.
Goodbye Rocket, and thank you for all the hard work and effort you have put in for us in the last 7 years.

Have to echo sentiments of disappointment, I just can't imagine them appointing a better coach than Eade so they're taking a pretty big risk. He's been one of our greatest coaches and it'll be sad to see him go. Does anyone know where to watch the presser live?

If we have better luck with injuries next season especially with Defenders the new coach will get credit which he wouldn't deserve. Look how the Eagles were able to turn things around by simply getting key players on the park.

well i wont toss my membership, even though there are some tough times ahead, but having got my first membership in 1982 i am used to it, winning is a bonus. i hope like one other poster stated, we need to play players on form not name. our structure due to injuries this year havent helped
