One of the greatest jokes happened today with the NRL version of dreamteam shutting itself down for the last 4 hours before kickoff.

Seeing though the AFL version of dreamteam is being run by the same group of idiots, here's a early warning. Please ensure that you have a fully registered team and don't wait until the last minute to make changes. You may end up with a team that you don't want.

I don't follow NRL Fantasy, or NRL at all for that matter, but I saw a tweet from m0nty say that they are apparently going to have to start up a second 'official' comp because of the drama. Man, that is a whole season wrecked in one night! Absolutely unacceptable stuff.

Luckily AFL Fantasy allows you to repick your side after round 1 so if you can't get on, don't worry, there will be no trade limits the following week.

I mean, in terms of server stability around the beginning of the season, VS had really improved over the last few years.

That is correct. They're starting a completely new and separate comp from Round 4. (Obviously too scared to start it next week just in case the same happens again)

Because SC was getting more people playing so they decided a new company is what was needed to fix that.

How exactly does that even work? As in, do scores for the first 4 rounds not count towards the overall winner? Hard to see them doubling prizes.

Telstra and the NRL would like to apologise to all users who experienced problems with the NRL Fantasy service yesterday.
We understand that many Fantasy players were unable to log in or register and set up their teams and competitions prior to the first match of the season. Quite simply, this is unsatisfactory.
Your complaints have been heard and they were warranted. An issue like this compromises your team, your league and or your overall strategy.
We have worked hard to fix these issues in a fair way for everyone involved.
As a result, we are proposing a new second NRL Fantasy competition to run side-by-side with the current competition.
What does that mean?
In Round 4 we will launch a second NRL Fantasy competition with the exact same prizes on offer as the original competition! We are offering everyone a second chance to start from scratch and win the major prizes.
If you are registered with us already, you will be automatically added to the second competition.
For those who managed to get their teams in for Round 1, the prizes will be in effect as per normal.
Please note you can still compete in your own leagues against your mates as you always have.
Most head-to-head leagues are set to start from Round 4 so you’ve still got plenty of time to start a league and compete against your mates.

We understand the outage has led to several errors and we’ll supply a FAQ shortly to address the common questions and provide more information in the coming days.

Look hopefully the NRL disaster will be a wake up call for the AFL version I cant imagine they will want to give more prizes out especially when its coming out of their pockets .

Look you should NEVER leave it to the last minute to edit your teams and seriously if you do leave it to the last couple of hours to do your changes or whatever you are asking for trouble get it done before it gets busy unless its unavoidable.

Fanhub are only new to this, Yes they used to do other Comps BUT not with the numbers they currently have.

FWIW I have issues with all 3 comps this year NOT one comp has been great or error free but you NEVER hear other people dissing VS for it. VS have been very ordinary this year and forget about getting a response off of VS to apparently they can't email you back and let you know whats going on.....

Hopefully Fanhub have learnt from the Error that happened on Thursday as I said before they wont be keen on giving away more prizes at their own expense.

Guaranteed all 3 Comps will crash when it gets close to Lockout, So get your teams done way before Busy time and you won't have any issues * Touchwood*

Can't say I'm all that surprised, took VS a couple of years to handle the traffic although it wasn't like this either. If you can get onto your side I'd suggest making your changes now as there's no chance this will be working a few hours before lockout.

That they can straight up offer a second set of prizes shows how big a margin there is in this for them. Notwithstanding free entry, I've always thought the prizes were light-on given the massive number of entrants.

My teams, leagues and fantasy coach have all disappeared and I now seem to have some sort of half NRL, half AFL fantasy version with the NRL salary caps and NRL leagues to join... this is going well.

So this is the team / salary I am left with now .. 6 hours to go....
