Yep pipped in the final minutes with those Peel goals....couple of posters in the last stanza didn't help. Realistically played the top 3 sides first up, with improvements made in each game. Next few games will see where EF sit with the rest of the comp....hopefully it's not one step forward and two steps back...definitely due a derby win, been a few years from memory.

Can see Anthony getting rewarded, read that Ryan didn't finish the game due to injury, not sure how bad tho. Obviously Bailey will be out thru the concussion rule, haven't heard how bad his head knock was with Sam Sturt. Strnadica needs help with Griffen out, can't use part timers v Higgins, hopefully Watson gets a chance...also resting Strnadica up front with Loersch, could stretch SF defence....does Scott come into add some height to EF defence?

Same old same old derby shellacking, this time with new SF faces. One step forward and 3 back. Be interesting if the selection committee reward a few of those reserves boys with those back to back wins.....

Be interesting if the coach has a look at some of those boys in the reserves this week v WP....obviously a few key players out, but don't think Monaghan is the sort of fella to tolerate that sort of performance TBH....state game bye after the WP game.....perfect time for some reflection from all parties as to how this season will pan out.....only early days, but enough time for Monaghan to suss who really is on board and who is not.....

Admire your confidence andana....good to see O'Reilly and Kommer back....not sure where EF goals are coming from and the likes of Strijk, Lourey and Keitel are proven goal kickers.....touch wood EF can break their 14 game losing streak....pity Jez Sharp has to play PSA for Aquinas instead of league footy for EF.

3 close contests yesterday all falling WP way...Colts lead for 99.9% of the match and pipped with the final kick.....reserves lose by a kick after kicking 0.7 in the last....seriously 0.7!.....the league contest was 1-2 goal contest all match till the 20 min mark of the last, till WP finished the game off with two sealing goals....had opportunities in the 3rd to build a lead going into the last, but spurned them kicking 2.5.....kind of where the club is at at present, finding ways to lose instead of winning.

State game next week, no EF players playing, so I guess the bye comes at a good time for EF.....start the season from scratch v SD....hopefully with the skipper back and a few others. Positives are getting game time into the likes of Manning, Boekhorst and Kommer after injury riddled 2018's...hopefully they can improve over the next part of the year....need more goals and from the sounds of things more players getting their hands on the footy more is needed....very few inside 50s.....being 0-5 the only way forward is taking opportunities and winning games....something this club hasn't done since 2014.......

Monaghan said in a recent interview, over the years he has realised the footy season can be a long one with many ups n downs. Obviously on a definite downer at 0-5, but a win can change confidence levels and belief quick smart. Just need to turn around those important game moments and make the most of given opportunities. Missing set shots from straight in front, dropping chest marks in the square, taking a snap shot for goal instead of handpassing to a team mate running into an easier open goal option, kicking out of bounds from a kick in, not once but twice, are crucial for a team down on confidence....need to find ways to win instead of finding ways to lose.....don't envy Monaghans task, but do think he is up to the challenge....

Much needed win, even more so when SD got back in the game heading into the 3rd....only for EF to step up and kick 3 early 4th quarter goals....finishing with 5 for the last term....nice way to generate some self belief and confidence. The skipper was huge v 2 quality rucks in Gault and Blakely....with great support from Strnadica. Good spread of goal kickers....tho would be great to see Loersch and Strnadica click in a match and kick some bags each....hopefully that will happen Perth next weekend. Great to see young Gero talent in Chris Scott back in the league side....talented player who if folk remember was the 3rd tall in that 2017 WA u18 side, behind 2 quality boys in Naughton and Sam Taylor..... Will be important to back up this win with another competitive team performance v Perth next week...who themselves lost their first game on Sat....be great if both clubs repeat their weekend results with back to back performances

2017 Lynn Medallist, Jayden Schofield, has advised the club and his teammates that he’ll be stepping away from the WAFL. The classy half back flanker made the announcement on Monday night.
Jayden, a product of our Geraldton zone, was a member of the Colts Premiership side in 2010 under the guidance of Steve Malaxos. Jayden was pick 74 in the 2010 AFL draft, playing 7 AFL games for the Western Bulldogs in the 2011 season. He returned to WA before the start of the 2012 season where he reunited with Malaxos. Schofield played 19 games for the season and was a member of the losing 2012 League Grand Final side, averaging 15 disposals.

On the money there andana...back to back wins, once again challenged in the last, but the team able to get the win. Another good spread of goal kickers....a few surprises as well with the likes of Tom Monaghan kicking a few onward and upward.

Reserves got a shellacking, but I guess with 6 colts boys stepping up to senior footy, not surprising. The colts got pipped at the death (again!) up in Gero, but hey great to see 18-19 Geraldton youngsters getting an opportunity to play colts footy, with many of them only 16/17 playing colts for the first time.

Available for Peel from the go.....no recompense for EF....tho could be interesting if Freo don't make the finals and EF and Peel do....AFL apparently states any player drafted mid season can go back to their club of origin only if their AFL doesn't make finals and their club of origin does in their respective comps....will EF claim O'Reilly for the finals even if Peel make the finals too?...

Didn't play in the first derby andana, which EF lost by a huge margin.....hopefully the teams mind set is in a much better place this time round....EP showed SF are more than beatable......definitely need to bring our best tho.....will Loersch play his first game against his old side?....missed all 4 since coming to EF.....need a Mason Shaw like bag from Loersch I reckon to beat SF....think he is due one as well
